I am not sure if anyone has caught this recent story. Over the past weekend, ESPN writer Arash Markazi spent the night partying with Lebron and his crew in Las Vegas. Markazi posted an article that would have painted Lebron as a shady character. Soon after it was posted, someone at ESPN removed the article. Fortunately, someone grabbed a screen shot and provided it to Deadspin:

Is anyone concerned that ESPN is becoming less and less credible as a news source? How can we take anything they say at face value. I do like the part about how Big Baby walked by and just shook his head. Thoughts?

I don't see how that article depicts James as a shady character.

The article was creepy. You'd think "The Retaliation" was coming. On that basis, maybe they were afraid to be cut off.

as long as he's not shooting someone/getting shot at I dont care if he parties.. he's a 25 year old multi-millionaire.. why wouldnt he?

How awesome is it that the article reports that Glen Davis walked by the party, looked for awhile at what was going on, and then shook his head. A nice diss by Big Baby.

Nothing shady IMO.

I did enjoy the article. It's very rare to get a genuine view into the life of a star athlete. It read very much like an episode of Entourage, minus the bball of course.

Not sure Danny will be too happy reading that BBD was in Vegas!

If nothing wrong per se, why did ESPN pull the article?  A threat from the King's court?  I am bothered by the amount of control he seems to have over the media; reminds me of Tiger before the downfall.

Definitely agree that the best part of the article is BBD's random showing.

I can't believe I'm finding myself sticking up for ESPN, but maybe they just pulled the article 'cause it was kinda lame and boring.

Practically everything they do has an agenda, which is why I haven't taken anything they say at face value for years. What bothers me is that there is no other sports network there to challenge them so it isn't going to change anytime soon.

Given that the article didn't paint LeBron and his entourage in the best light and that these same people just worked a one hour special together with ESPN, I think one has to wonder whether ESPN is showing some favoritism to LeBron and his crew.

The people in ESPN's inner workings have already criticized "The Decision" as they don't want their news integrity to be compromised. Now an unflattering story regarding LeBron disappears? I wonder what these same people have to say about this?

I think he and his crew are portrayed poorly. Its not obvious but little comments like the one about wanting a nude girl with no panties serving him? Sure we all actually do want that but you don't say it out loud. Or all the self-worship, partying and generally being portrayed like he's the president or something.

Love Baby shaking his head at all the extravagance. Undertones of the hardworking NBA player versus the fool full of himself who can't beat said players hardnosed Celtics team.

LeBron showed his true colors with this offseason. I hope the Super-friends fails miserably. But I can see why ESPN pulled it, it is a lame article, not much of a read. I wouldn't be surprised if some of that was embellished either.
