Jeez the guy is a 24 year old rookie.. why so quick to brush him off?

You know more about basketball than Danny Ainge?

No, you don't, no matter how much you would like to think you could be a GM you couldn't.

Yea this 24y/o kid obviously has a lot to learn, but if you do look at his positive highlights(as well as his negative)
He clearly has SOME potential. It's not like he's playing against you or I. These european players of course are not of the same caliber as NBA players but it's not like he's goin up against a bunch of 5'10 fat guys that have never played a sport in thier life.

Personally i'm excited to see what this kid can do once he learns english and spends some time in the NBA. If it turns out he's terrible so what, he only cost 400k.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Gotta agree with DL, here. The guy's a stiff. What is there to talk about? I saw him in the Summer League and he look lost and outmatched. How exactly does that translate into something to talk about?

Won't stop me from taking a flyer on him in the 3rd round of the 2010 Celticsblog draft!!  8)

Maybe he will be able to order his own lunch in the North End.

It's precisely BECAUSE he's 24 and has played professionally in Europe that we are setting a somewhat high standard.  At htis point, he can either play in the NBA, or he never will.  I don't mid him taking the #15 roster spot, unless we could use that spot for another big man via trade or FA signing.

Guess I should have titled it why arent we spending ANY time talking about Semih.

Wasnt saying I think we should all be wowed by him, just hadnt seen anything at all brought up about him so I figured i'd try and see how the rest of you felt, clearly no one has much hope for the guy :P

Personally I hope he does incredibly well so we can all start wearing "Raging Semih" T-shirts!!!!

What do you call an angry Turkish basketball player!? :P

He'll be long gone before then. My guess is since Danny said he's going to be getting minutes here this year that someone trades their 2nd and 3rd rounder to move into the late first to get him!!!! ;D

Maybe people blinked, thereby missing the entire Orlando summer league.

No, no we don't. But your question wasn't 'hey, any chance this guy could pan out,' it's 'why aren't we talking about him?' And from the limited amount we've seen him play, he's looked horrendous. And all signs point to the fact that he wont' pan out.

You yourself have pointed out that you've only seen a couple clips online.

What exactly would you like for us to comment on?
