Important enough to read up on it on a daily basis.
Important enough to follow boatloads of Twitter people.
Important enough to frequently visit fan blogs of all 30 clubs.
Important enough to watch youtube for hours on end to gain info about certain players.
Important enough to love discussing any tiny bit of info on the off season.

When I think about game 7, it still hurts. That much.

It's important. I dedicate an absurd amount of time to it.

But it's not even nearly as important as real issues in life.

That is true for me too, though I sacrifice a bit of real life here and there every now and then. But that's because it's worth it.

It probably hurts my grades a fair amount. Its really awful when I have to work instead of watch the C's. Although interestingly I don't really care about any other teams. Its tough for me to watch an entire NBA game if the Celtics aren't involved.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

R_i_b, dude, I shouldn't tell you this but... if you follow a few more franchises, it's easy to love other teams.

Okay, now don't go blaming me for your bad grades please! ;)

Anywayski, it started when I read up on the Blazers & Thunder. Then when I saw Noah (whom I remembered seeing as a college player) I read up on the bulls. After that I saw Posey go to the Hornets. I also read a book once about the Suns ("...7 seconds or less", a great, great read) and fell in love with their fast paced play. Then I read about Delonte, and noticed they had a player called "Boobie" (lol!)

Well. et cetera, etc, etc.

The NBA isn't really important to me at all.  But I Live and Die with the Celtics!!!!  I actually hate the NBA and the way the league is run and everything that goes with it.  But I am a life long Celtics fanatic and will be forever.  I watch every game the C's play, even if I DVR'd and already know the score.  I follow the team as much as possible...but if the C's were to cease to exist for some reason, I would never watch the NBA again.  The 5 pro teams I follow I follow religously but the NBA is the only league I don't care about when my team (the C's) aren't involved.

Wow, I'm a little surprised by some of these responses. I mean the Celtics are awesome, but for all you who don't follow the rest of the NBA, try owning league pass.  There is soooo much young talent in the league right now it's crazy. Watch Tyreke Evans once and you'll be a kings fan. Watch K Dur, Steph Curry, Drose, Brandon Roy, Brook Lopez.

And those are the secondary stars. Watching Dwade every game, or Dwight or Lebron. They're just absurdly good at the game.

And my 2nd favorite team is the Memphis Grizzles. I love OJ, love Marc Gasol. I like Rudy, and Conley.

Uh... How important is Nba?

Let me answer about Celtics.

1) I stay awake 82 nights every year plus playoff, of course
2) I usually go to work at 5.30 AM
3) I read Boston Globe and Herald every day
4) Sometimes I listen Weei or 98.5 on internet
5) I check celticsblog and many others celtics/nba blog at least 3-4 times a day
6) I went to Boston to see my favourite team last year, and i'm planning to come back this year (so difficult to tell my wife)
7) I've so many things to write but i don't want to bother you
8 ) I'm from Rome

So, let me say: Very important.

Hm. Truth again.

There are players on every squad that one can like, and seeing them perform against the LeBron James', the Kobe Bryants, the Dwayne Wades, that's what I like.

Especially if you follow it on (international) League Pass and combine it with posting in one (or both) of the teams Game Thread over at their SB Nation Blog sites.

It adds so much to the experience, since you can ask questions about players, and get random info about them thrown in there.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that; I didn't miss a single game this season, up until I had to leave to Australia, where it was rather impossible to catch every game. Holland here, so I guess it's the same, or a -1 time zone as Rome :D

ps.: I'm going to stop posting in this thread now >_< Jeez Louise!

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'll miss a game, that doesn't drive me nuts. I'll also dedicate entire days of my life (if you add up all the hours over the season) finding news and writing quasi humorous articles/posts about what I think about the NBA. That doesn't drive me nuts either.

I think that about sums it up.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner
