Can the Celtics really do anything right now to improve their roster?

Even with Sheeds contract, unless we get Josh Howard or someone but I don't if that is going to happen. I don't know if the Celtics can do much to improve their roster until the trade deadline.  We're really just going to have to improve internally and go along until the trading deadline IMO.

That's how I feel except we may even have to wait until the trade deadline to do that if we want to get a good number three wing.

getting Rudy Fernandez would be the best option. getting Shaq (provided he's ok with being a role player) would also be great.

Is this a serious question?  Yes there are a multitude of options still available to add depth.  Should DA panic, no he's not a blogger.  But yes of course things that are still available.  If waiting to the trade deadline occurs I'll assume like you that there wasn't any moves that were beneficial to the C's as per DA.

Getting Shaq would likely make Perkins or O'Neal tradeable at the deadline.

Yes it is 100% serious.  Sure we can sign vet min guys like Bogans, but that really is it.  And it wasn't even a question lol it was an opinion.

Josh Howard seems like an option still. Chicago looks full at the wing now and I don't know who else has the money to pay him? Would the Clippers? Washington still involved? He could be the best wing depth signing of the offseason considering the options...his reward is high.

Plenty of S&T options we are not even privy too I would assume.  It would hard for me to not think DA is talking with Cleveland.  It just seems so perfect in a screw Miami kind of way.  And yes I expect a vet min guy to help provide depth.  Not earth shattering but, something the C's need.

A sign and trade with Shaq that would get us a wing to come over with him.  I don't believe any of there wings are free-agents right now.

I believe there will be some good talent settling for vet minimum deals once the musical chairs are over. Once teams use up their cap space and their exceptions, there are probably going to be some decent players out there that have no choice but to take the vet minimum.

I checked the free-agent tracker.  There aren't too many. 

I trust Danny though and believe that he will get us to the start of the season with a solid lineup and will only improve it at the deadline.

Well, turning Sheed into Josh Howard would improve our roster dramatically, though beginning to question just how possible that is. 

But even if we were to land Shaq with Sheed's deal, and nothing else, we'd still be a better team now than with a minimum guy filling in that spot.  So in that regard, I think we can improve the team.

A side note: I was pushing the idea of waiting until the deadline to get someone; however, how long can Sheed stay in limbo for?  Will the NBA let us keep him "active" at home, then trade him, then have him retire?  Will Wyc balk at paying Sheed 3-4 million dollars of his deal to sit at home until the deadline?
