Signing Shaq is pretty much the only thing that could get me excited about this offseason again.

Well said ... I agree. (TP)

What about a block buster trade that we make  ;D!  One can hope!

The Big Leprechaun, huh? Also - the man who gave our Captain his nickname.

Plus, Shaq and Glen are LSU Alums. And then you have O'Neal and O'Neal.

An awful lot of coincidences here.

My only concern is the Chemistry, but I'm all for it, especially if it brings us Banner 18, and to do it against LA?

Priceless. And you know Shaq would make another rap about it, and then ride off into the sunset with as many rings as Kobe.

I Love it.

Wyc and Danny need to make this happen, even if it takes a s+t with cleveland( who will be happy to help miami's main competition) of shaq resigned 2 yrs 12 mil.

Simply trade sheed and a couple 2nd round picks .

The C's regular season is certainly going to be sold out when you have players like PP,Rondo,Ray,KG, Jermaine , shaq, nate and BBD on the roster.

This would almost be like a license to print money for Wyc and company ( even if they have to pay lux tax)

This has to get done for so many reasons, both financial and on court roster

the biggest concern for me is chemistry. i don't want Shaq becoming like our version of Allen Iverson when he was in the Pistons/Grizzlies.

If he's willing to play spot minutes/come of the bench/whatever. then yes. signing him for the vet min would be a great move!

Sheed's contract for Shaq, no, we still need another wing, but Sheed and Gaffney+Lafayette for Shaq and Jamario Moon I would do.

Is there a way to S &T Shaq for about 3 million a year (not comfortable with having him at more than that) to Cleveland and create a trade exception we can use then to get another wing Fernandez or whomever?  At the minimum I like the deal but there's no wings on Cleveland that I'd be interested in taking Shaq in a S&T with.

adding Shaq would certainly be a help if say we traded for CP and had to include BBD and/or Perk...

I like this idea: nets us our "one more big man" and our "one more wing" in one fell swoop. And if the deal with Shaq is for 2 years, he too will come off the books with nearly everyone else on Boston's roster in 2012, which keeps Danny's two-year plan intact.

For all those who say "only for the vet. minimum", let's not forget the contracts Amir Johnson and Drew Gooden signed. This set the market for bigs and Shaq definitely deserves more than those two below average players. Besides, Shaq only wants to play 2 more seasons and that would be perfect for 2012. It would be yet another contract that comes off the books that summer and not hurt our long term rebuilding plan.

S & T for Shaq and Anthony Parker?

With Marquis, we lack a backup wing who can shoot. Jamario may duplicate Daniels in a lot of ways. A sign and trade for Shaq and AP would be awesome if Cleveland were interested in dumping more salary and adding a pick or two.

Rondo / Nate / Bradley
Ray / Parker / Bradley
Pierce / Daniels / Parker
KG / Baby
JO / Shaq

The only problem I see with this is that when Perk comes back, theres 5 big men who deserve legitimate minutes. Maybe we trade Baby during the season and go into the playoffs with a 4 headed monster of KG, Shaq, Jermaine O'Neal, and Perkins. All playing 20-30 minutes a night. Shaq closer to 20 of course. We could add baby to the trade with Cleveland, but then we may still be a body short until Perk returns. I think Parker would be a great wing off the bench for us, and could play either the two or the three.

For the right deal (whether it be vet. min or a proper S+T), I don't see how Shaq in Boston is not a good thing.

oh wow. this would be a great deal for us. Moon+Shaq for Sheed+garbage. if DA can get this done, i think our roster is set.

i'm curious though. Does anyone know if Sheed (after "retiring") can sign on a team of his choice later on in the season? Or is that a violation of the rules?
