This is real easy. Rasheed was out of shape and poorly conditioned all of last year. Because of that his performance suffered greatly. I forget who it was but someone at ESPN ran out a stat that Rasheed's rebound percentage was the lowest rebound percentage of anyone 6'11" or taller in the history of the NBA last year. That's bad.
He went on to say he had trouble with the pain and physical exhaustion that the season put him through. So, if he was going to return, the only way for him to return and be a viable player for the Celtics would be to take two weeks off after the season ended and then got immediately into a major workout program to restructure his body to withstand the beating the regular season would put him through.
So, I wonder. Has Rasheed been working out diligently this off season? Is he on a proper diet? Hitting the weight room? Doing lots of cardio? Been in Waltham at all with the C's staff doing stuff? Playing lots of pick up ball? Have there been any reports of any of this?
My guess, unless Rasheed is doing any of the above, not only does he not want to come back, but we as fans should really not want him back because if you thought last year was an atrocious year for him, wait until next year if he isn't doing everything he can right now to get himself into tip top physical condition.
