I was just about to post this as I saw your post. I'm happy about this, solid signing considering we lost Tony. Apparently it's one year at 2.5 million.

smart move. Daniels looked great at the start of last year and injuries threw him way out of whack. Tony Allen had countless chances in boston and eventually showed his value. I'm sure Daniels, given a second chance, can do even better than TA. Now we need another wing from Sheed's deal and we're set.

Yeah, I was a huge fan of Daniels before he was injured. If he could solidify a 3 point shot we could really have something, he has a solid mid range jumper he was just a little to tentative. Hopefully he doesn't play himself out of our price-range if he does play up to and beyond his potential.

I am fine with this move. We just need someone ready for when he gets injured.

need filled: 4th wing with working legs

still needed: 3rd wing (see: Howard, Josh)
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Do you people really think this is a good idea?

This is a guy who bumped his head into someone's chest in the playoffs and was lost to the team for the remainder of the playoffs with a concussion, right? The man is fragile and injury prone. We are going to be paying $2.5 million for about 50 games because that's all he seems to be able to get through before getting hurt.

Granted, the pickings are slim but, I'm not thrilled with paying a guy for half a year's work.

Yeah! We're bringing all of my favorite bench players back. Now, if only we could somehow convince Rasheed Wallace to come out of retirement -- I know it's a long-shot, however 'Sheed loves jacking up 3's so maybe there's still some hope there.  ;D

I'm happy with this since we don't have to use an asset (i.e Sheed's contract) to get him.  Like Nick said though he is a little fragile so I would like an additional wing for more insurance.   Maybe Rasual Butler for the vet min.   We still have Sheed's contract in play if DA wants to still try and pull off a bigger move later on but he seems to be very patient and not in a rush to move that contract just yet.

I hope there is a 2nd year at team option...but after not having anyone beat down his door offering money in this Summer of Love, he may have an opt-out after one year, but the security of two?

Great to be able to have him back, though.  I'm looking forward to seeing him play with Nate after a full camp.

Good move by both sides.  I was wondering whether Daniels would refuse to return because of losing his job last year, but I think this is the best move for everyone.

The C's get at worst a quality NBA player who can eat up minutes behind Pierce and Allen, and at best, an absolute steal if he returns to form.  And they also now have more flexibility to hold on to Sheed's contract until the trade deadline, when there may be more sellers, if they can't find a good deal before then.

And for Daniels, he gets a chance to showcase himself again on a contender.  He just needs to stay healthy, and you know, play well.
