If Boston was to include next years 1st (since Minn is stockpiling them).

Boston would also likely include cash.

The best part would be the 4 million TE Boston would get.

Yeah, please post the trade.  Nothing happens when I click on it.

It's working now.

Corey Brewer for Sheed, Gaffney and Lafayette.

I like it.  I started a thread on Brewer the other day.  He's a good defensive player and young.  Doesn't shoot free throws well though.

I've had a Brewer based idea going for a while now. I assume the Wolves aren't going to dump him for financial relief alone, so it's worth taking a look at.

I'm not attached to the idea of Wright, but the point is that we could potentially see another asset back here.

If one prefers the straight up Brewer for Rasheed option, I'd assume we're going to have to throw in a pick I doubt Danny would be willing to give up....

I figured Minn was after extra 1sts and Brewer is more then worth a late 1st.

I add the two others (because they can just be waived and taken off the cap) because they push the trade exception to just over 4 million.  4 million can get the Celtics a pretty good bench player from a team looking to dump money.

Love is the guy on their roster I like best and I wager he is nigh untouchable.

I'd do the 2012 pick though. I think there is a chance the CBA adds a year to eligibility, so 2012 could be a "dead" draft with no elite freshman in the draft, our pick would probably be better, but that would be our last year of this squad as we know it, so probably a low pick too, and the team may be active in trades that year with ability to pick up some picks etc.

Brewer could really take off on this team - he'd basically get Tony Allen's minutes, but he's capable of hitting wide open corner threes. He can't handle the ball, but with Nate coming back that's a good tandem at the wings/guards off the bench. He also has some ability to make another leap so it's a good gamble.

The only down side is his salary spot might make it hard to keep him if we sign a FA in 2012. But that's a small gamble.

That's why Love is not a target.  They are not trading him, so no sense in even talking about it, imo.  Brewer is a realistic possibility.

Wouldn't we have his bird rights?

So a Brewer, Pierce, Ray and Robinson mix at 2/3?

Not bad option I suppose plus he can finish as well.

Gulliver's Travels 1/10
Grown Ups -20/10
Tron Legacy 6.5/10

Plus a 4 million trade exception to go after a sf or pf.

I don't get the whole trade exception thing.  Why would we have a trade exception if we used Sheed's contract to get Brewer?

Hear you -- and all for it. But would they trade Brewer for a pick in the 20s? I know this is Kahn we're talking about but it seems a stretch....

Because Minny has enough cap room to absorb an uneven trade. Sheed (plus the other scrubs) makes around 4mil more than Brewer, therefore that would come back to us with Brewer.
