Now say we trade Sheed for someone and then he retires. Are we then able to pick him back up after the trade deadline and have him do the PJ brown role? I think that would be perfect because by then we would know if Perk is gunna come backup 100% or if he is only back 65% we could have him eat up those minutes and make another run. Well does anyone know if we can do that.

I think the way this would work is that if we trade Sheed, he would have to be bought out and then we could bring him back during the mid season.

If he retires, then I think we have to wait for a year before we can bring him back.

So yeah I am really hoping that with his contract we can get at least one good bench player (if not 2), and then have him be bought out so we can bring him back.

I'm pretty sure that he has to stay retired or we're on the hook for his original salary. If anyone could do that we'd just have our big 3 all retire, sign the new big 3 and bring Pierce, Allen and KG back for the vet min, right? Wouldn't every team try to do that to get top tier players and stay under the cap?
