Foster's coming back from a back injury, which scares me. He's the longest-tenured of the current Pacer players, and they seem to want to keep him around (plenty of times they could have traded him for value in the past). They've never seemed inclined to let him go in the past.
Larry's also the worst in the league at overvaluing his own players.
Jones would help, but he was overpaid from the moment he signed that contract and was a major disappointment last year. With that said, two weeks ago I would have figured no way Danny gives ANYONE other than Pierce or Rondo guaranteed money past 2012; if he was offering TA the same money Memphis gave him, there's clearly at least a little wiggle room.
So, I think I'd do it. As was noted the other week, though, much of Indiana's pressures have to do with the luxury tax, and the tax thrreshold came in a couple million higher than expected. So, less pressure on them to do pure salary dumps. Not that Indiana shouldn't unload salary; mediocre (at best) squad in a small market, they have absolutely no business paying that group of players anything close to $70M.
Suppose that if Foster's back remains an issue, C's could always trade him as an expiring deal in February. Not bad to have a ~$7M expiring contract to play with.
