I know he's been injured forever, but as a backup to Pierce for 15-20 mpg?  The Clips are working him out today as he's a free agent.

Doc coached him in Orlando, right?  I wonder if he has a good relationship with TMac.  That's some INSTANT offense off the bench, and if he was in the game with Perk, KG, and Rondo they could minimize his defensive liabilities.

LLE for Tracy?

The Celtics don't have the LLE for this year.  I wouldn't sign McGrady for anything more than the vet min (and we can't anyway).  He is far from instant offense.  He looked very slow with the Knicks last year.  He still has good offensive instincts, but his body just can't do what it used to.

If the Nate Robinson deal falls through, and I hope it doesn't, I would consider T-Mac an option if the price was right.

He's gonna get hurt when someone throws a towel at him. Look what happened in Houston and then immediately when he went to the Knicks (the second game he got hurt). You can't count on the guy to be healthy.

Agreed. Can't hurt as an extra body signing at the vet min. He is better than almost all the players who will take that much money. He is coming off of Micro-fracture surgery and should be much more healthy than he was last year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

A lot of these younger guys who were or are super athletes don't really have good skill sets once their physical abilities decline.  I consider McGrady to be in this camp.  LeBron will be this way too.  Neither were or are greater shooters once they get injured since they did'nt practive too hard they suck.  I would run away from McGrady as fast as I could as a GM, the Knicks don't want him and they need a star bad to couple with Amari.

I think he will gain a measure of his athleticism back after a year more of recover time after Microfracture surgery.

Even when Lebron declines athletically he will still be 6'8 260 and strong as an ox. I think by then his jumper will be sound.

McGrady is no longer a super star. If the Knicks wanted him they could have kept him at more money than he's worth. If he came to us we would get him for the vet min which is less money than he's worth.

I was originally one who wanted to take chance on T-mac. But it's starting to look more and more like he wants to be a starter somewhere and doesn't care about winning 1sr. Why else would he be working out with the clippers? The reason they have cap room and a hole in the starting lineup. I wouldn't want a T-mac who still thinks he can carry a team because he clearly can't anymore. I want a T-mac who has excepted that his skills has diminished and is now willing to do the intangible things that helps teams win games. Although we would need some scoring from him, we would need even more playmaking and defense than has ever had to put forth before to attain the team common goal. And honestly it doesn't seem as if that is his mindset.

The guy is not a champion either,.

I would not be sure LeBron's shot would be sound.  He relies more on athletic ability than practice.   He is strong as an ox now and barely uses that strength.  A timid heart rarely gains courage in old age.  Once a coward, always a coward.

I am predicting an injury for him this year.  The Karmic Gods surely have him in his triggersight.  LeBron has a lot of people wishing ill on him.  Florida fans won't care.  He might get capped if he goes home to Cleveland.

I'm torn between Cleveland celebrating the return of LeBron in his first game there with the Heat as NRA Appreciation Night or as MILF Appreciation Night.

I won't be surprised if Cleveland signs T-mac as a hope to contend, in the case that he will return to his former self, which at 31, is still not out of the question.

If Tracy McGrady had a 50% chance of rebounding to become half the player he used to be, how much would he be worth?
