Can we do a 3 way trade with Atlanta and the Cavs?  Sheed's contract to Atlanta, Marvin to the Celtics and Shaq to Atlanta? Would something like that work?

He wants a sign and trade for more money, who doesn't. The Hawks would likely go along because it'd allow them to use their MLE on other players.

I don't think the Cavs want to take back any of the junk that Atlant would likely want to send back for Shaq.

Mentioned some connection between the Cavs front office ... their new GM was working with Atlanta and part of the team that selected Marvin with the #2 pick and still values him highly ... something like that.

Marvin is better then Shaq at this point, but Marvin is a bench player and has a long contract and the Hawks really do need a center, so I could definately see them making the move at some point.  Ideally the Hawks could use the M.L.E. on Shaq and trade Marvin elsewhere for some backcourt depth.

I don't think Shaq will walk away from a 2 year MLE offer from the Hawks in the end.

I think the Hawks are the best fit for him.  Loosing Marvin Williams for Shaq would be a great move for ATL, they don't need another wing guy and though Marvin is pretty good he's not a starting talent I don't think.  Then you can play Shaq at C, Hordford at his true PF position, and Smith at SF where he may not provide the shooting but would be a bruiser of a SF.

I definitely believe so, he is quick enough to handle the position well and possibly would be the one of the toughest matchups at that position. He has a good mid range shot from what i've watched of him and he would be able to defend many of the sf's of the league with his long arms and pretty good defense. He made it to the second all-defensive team last year so i think he's in good standing for that position.
