I thought it was a bit ridiculous for Lucic being tossed in the game though.
That was a tough call. I think it was absolutely a 5 minute major, and at that point, it is a very short leap to the game misconduct. I think what tipped the scales was that it was in Montreal, and the refs knew the misconduct could be justified, and if Lucic stepped back on the ice, things could get VERY ugly.
They threw all the soft stuff out after the disallowed goal (not THAT was a tough call), so all they had left to throw was the harder souvenirs.
It sucks, but its justifiable. I also would argue that the B's benefited a bit from that. Lucic was doing absolutely nothing all series, and Paille added a little jump to that line. They had some of their better scoring chances after Lucic was out. Plus, Lucic will have the freshest legs tonight, and will be motivated to step it up big time.
