  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Oh well, Vancover has been all over Boston this period, plus they have had more quality shots. Thomas couldn't keep it up forever. They have to play more aggressively in game 2 - good game, though.

Let me rephrase that: words that cannot be used on this blog  ;)

And yes, not that it matters, but that looked offsides.

Bruins got stabbed in the heart.  Tough loss.  But you can't win with all defense.  Gotta have some offense -- the team that had some won.

I don't know, I think that's tough analysis.  The Bruins put 36 shots on net and had some good chances.  Luongo is an amazing goalie, though, and didn't let anything by.

No suspension for Burrows after last night's game.  So I suppose Bergeron's finger just magically started bleeding on its own?

Quote
(SI.com) -- Mike Murphy, the NHL's Senior Vice President of Operations, has announced that forward Alex Burrows of the Vancouver Canucks will not be suspended for an incident in Wednesday night's Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Boston Bruins.

"After reviewing the incident, including speaking with the on-ice officials, I can find no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron," Murphy wrote in a release issued by the NHL on Thursday afternoon.

The two players were involved in a scrum at the end of the first period and it appeared that Burrows bit Bergeron, who was seen wearing a bandage on his finger after the game.

The decision came a day after the NHL announced that Colin Campbell was stepping down from his role as its lead administrator of supplementary discipline decisions and would be replaced by Brendan Shanahan. Murphy has been serving in cases involving the Bruins, for whom Campbell's son Gregory plays.

The Bs are looking pretty good right now.  Hopefully they can continue to apply pressure, luck stays on their side, and Thomas can keep making big stops.

After slow start, the Bruins are destroying the Canucks, though they're having some chances lately... Go Bruins!
