I know I am.

Three really good players decided they want to play together.  I have no issue with that.

The way one of them went about it and the circus that has followed was awful.

But now, it is just getting annoying listening to everyone (radio, TV, newspapers, and blogs) complaining about it.

Nope I'm quite fine with it.  It's been what a whole 5 days and you feel sorry for them already?  How about feeling sorry for our C's and the fact that like some have ranted they are struggling to get any talent to come to Boston... (rondo 3 HOFs) and we just lost Tony Allen (great talent, high BBIQ) and Sheed retired (everyone complained about him all year now he's a big loss).  I think Boston has better use for your sympathy...

I'm fine with it too!  Agree that the Celtics deserve more sympathy from us.

I'm still mad and disgusted so no, I'm not sick of the backlash and I'll be fine if Lebron's image takes a hit for several years.

They deserve it, all these guys have no class.  I used to have respect for LBJ, but no more.

During his stupid little "Decision" special on ESPN, LBJ said that he didn't make up his mind until that morning.  Everybody knows that's a straight up lie.  Obviously this was planned well in advance.  LBJ is a shameless self-promoter, in a way that can be sort of funny/stupid and therefore endearing and forgivable in a lesser talent, like with Chad Ochocinco's antics, but in a guy who is supposed to be up there with Jordan and the other all-time greats, it's unseemly.  Mohammed Ali was the only other other athlete I can think of who dominated his sport and who would tell everyone how great he was, but even with Ali, there was something tongue in cheek about it, so it was funny and never unclassy.  There is nothing classy about LBJ, if anything it's sort of pathetic.  I might feel differently about this 10 years down the road, when a younger generation of athletes has sunk to even lower depths that we can't even imagine yet, but for now, nope.  No respect for LeBron.

TP.  Very well said.

Not remotely. Yeah, boo-hoo, they've got 3 of the Top 10 players in the league ... 2 of the Top 5! Gimme a break, lol! I will never feel sorry for them ... that said, I'm glad we're an underdog. ;)

I think the outrage at this is outrageous.

Lets, for example, look at Joe Johnson.  Dude took max money and crippled his own chances at ever winning a ring for extra money.

LBJ/Wade/Bosh all took less money for a shot at a ring..... isn't that like a noble thing to do in basketball???  I always thought so.  I still think so.

Had LBJ/Wade/Bosh all stayed home and took max contacts I would have been disgusted.

I like Lebron, Wade, and Bosh a lot more now then I did before.  They are actually sacrificing money for a chance to win.  Something that doesn't happen all that often.  Sure it happens to players as they get older and various other circumstances.  But never does it happen to players with youth in their prime.

Why are people mad at this? I read this whole thread and didn't see any valid reasons at all.

Ya'll a bit mad at how LBJ is a never ending hype machine?  Get over it, been that way for 7 years.  He gained my respect by taking less money and not wanting to be the man just wanting to get a ring.

Ya'll mad cause Bosh tweeted some dumb stuff?  Get over it... it's freaking twitter.... not a reason to around hating a guy who left money on the table for a chance at a ring.

So what are you mad at really?? That all of a sudden Boston's title chances have dwindled considerably?

Tough luck for us I guess, hate them though? No... I dont hate them, if anything I respect them all a little more for doing something we all said we would do if we were NBA players probably a million times.

I am a little tired of all the backlash they are getting.  It just shows you who is jealous and who just wants to be a hater.

Miami as a city really doesn't deserve it. LeBron and ESPN deserve any and all backlash they get.   But they both have hyped a bad product and it will hurt them in the long run.

You could also say that Joe Johnson is displaying courage by being comfortable in the role of leading a team.

I feel like we are being robbed of seeing just how good Lebron can be in a historical sense.  Lebron joining Wade is like Bird joining Magic.  The NBA wouldn't have been so good if that happened.

I don't care about the whole thing TBH. I seethed about the Gasol "trade" for months but I'm over this already. Miami cleared their cap space and signed 3 agents EOS. Right now the most I feel about the team is mild curiosity.

My feelings towards the 3 haven't really changed. Bosh I didn't care about before and still don't. He's overrated and did nothing as a leader on the Raps to deserve a max contract let alone one as the 3rd banana. Lebron I didn't like before and I'm not surprised a bit by the whole debacle. It's just the thing a self-absorbed airhead like him would do. Wade I still like.

Yeah pretty much how I feel although I could careless if the back lash continues.  Spot on about Bosh by the way.  Wade and the Kobester come out of this looking better than ever.

I am a little tired of all the backlash they are getting.  It just shows you who is jealous and who just wants to be a hater.

So because some of us don't feel sorry for them, or aren't "sick of the back-lash", we're jealous and want to be haters?!? Sorry, but I take exception to that, (forgive me if I'm mis-interpreting).

Personally, I don't listen to much of the back-lash, because I've been through plenty of it as a Boston fan ... it comes with the territory, and teams who are our competition, aren't going to get my pity because they get it, too.

Saying that these guys are more worthy of our admiration just because they took a temporary cut in pay to become a "Super-Team", is a bit short-sighted, IMHO.

This will benefit them all, and not just in terms of winning ... their exposure and "Star" power will soar as a result, and endorsements and residual monetary benefits will go on for years.

They want to win, so they took a salary cut ... but that's no shining endorsement of their character, merely what they should be doing as competitors, (in the media's eyes), and what will benefit them even more in the long run, than if they had stayed autonomous.

If you want to make a comparison of character, just look at Paul ... he took a pay-cut primarily out of loyalty to his team and fans, not as part of a betrayal to his home-town fans for the sake of joining a "Super" team.

The fans of Toronto and Cleveland are bitter, and they have a right to be ... they gave their hearts and loyalty to guys who saw their personal gain as the ultimate consideration.

Sure, that's what this league is about nowadays, and Pierce's motivations weren't completely unselfish. But to feel sorry for Miami because they'er taking some guff for decisions that hurt a lot of people, well, I just can't go there.

It's also a misnomer to label people as "mad" just because they feel no sympathy for the Heat ... I'm not remotely mad, in fact, I started a whole thread about how I love all this hype, as it makes the Celtics an underdog.

I don't hate the Heat because they've become the big favorite in the East, I hate them because they're our competition, as I did before this happened, and now even more because LeBron is there, not because I'm jealous or afraid of their new "Super" team.

You and others feel sorry for them for the backlash, and that's your right, but please allow the rest of us the latitude to be indifferent about the whole thing, and not label us as "haters" and jealous, just because we don't feel bad for the new Super-heroes of the NBA.

The fans of Cleveland and Toronto ... that's who I feel sorry for in the light of this whole thing. I can't imagine having the rug pulled out from underneath like that ... and I hope I never have to find out.

No backlash towards Mia. Bosh is a little bit overrated but I still think Wade isn't a bad guy. However LBJ has shown himself to be totally classless with the why he handled the whole thing and totally about "ME". I have a tendency to rate stars by whether a crumbbum like me would look better or worse if I played with them. Bill Russell, Magic, Bird, Stockton, etc, etc would have all made me look better than I was. Jordan,LBJ,Kobe, etc would have made me look worse. Add the no class thing and it will be easy to root against LBJ.

Why would I be sorry for them?

I am annoyed at the backlash that keeps going on.

And I don't feel sorry for Boston.  I am looking forward to seeing them make a run at the title again this season.

I am eager to hear the players that will be added to the bench to replace Wallace (who physically needs to retire) and TA (high BBIQ?  since when).

I am not feeling sorry for anyone.

But how many more times do we have to hear someone gush over or whine, whine, whine about the new Miami Heat?

And yes, I still think a healthy Celtics team can (and will) beat this Miami team in the playoffs.

I guess I'm not following so well.  Sorry about that.

So you just hate the story?  Oh me too.  ESPN has gone from promoting it, too destroying it and LJ, too lamenting the back lash on LJ...

TP for clarifying your point and correcting my ignorance.  Some of my post especially the portion about TA was sarcasm.  I have to stop using sarcasm it's not doing me or anyone else any favors.

I still don't have any problems with the back lash though because LJ deserves it.  It will be over soon enough though when they start destroying the NBA (except the C's).
