All the FAs are goin' quickly and none to Boston!  We haven't done much as far as getting new players.  Don't get me wrong, getting Paul, Ray, and Doc to come back was HUGE, and it was definitely the priority (and please don't tell me that there is a rumor that they're gonna trade Ray Allen - just saw that on here somewhere ? Someone clarify please) - but other than signing JO, who we needed to fill in for the injured Perk, we haven't done much....Now TA is gone to Memphis, Big Ben a hopeful of mine to come to Boston is re-signing w/ Detroit, and a lot of FA's (vets in particular who Celts would be targeting) seem highly attracted to Miami...No surprise there!  We don't even really have a back-up for JO and KG....Maybe they are putting a lot of stock into Harangody and Bradley to produce big time this next season ?? I don't know but there isn't much left out there!  I like the idea of brining Eddie back at vet min- all for it! I was looking at the list of FA PF/C left and does anybody know who this Earl Barron dude is from Memphis, 7 footer, played for the Knicks, about 26 yrs. old, undrafted, but had good numbers in his short stint w/ NY - He had like 18 boards 10 pts. against Boston in a game in April - Maybe he's a possibilty ?? Kurt Thomas maybe off the bench  ?? Theo Ratliff  ?? Wow  not much left......and as for a needed long athletic wing who can score, and NOW DEFEND (cuz bye-bye Tony) I dunno - maybe Ainge has a trade up his sleeve?? There was a rumor that C's had talked to Josh Howard who I wouldn't mind - better than most that are left out there.  HOPING the C's get a Rip Hamilton, Marvin Williams(unlikely), Barbosa, Grant Hill, Shawn Marion(rumored that Mavs are shopping him), Josh Childress(who the Cavs are gonna offer to), Ronnie Brewer, Rudy Fernandez, T Mac(if he can mesh w/ the team-Doc should know)  maybe a Shaun Livingston, Larry Hughes, Rasual Butler as last resorts.  Gotta use Rasheed's contract now w/ maybe a S&T w/ Nate, Marquis, Finley, and even BBD now.  Anybody hearing anything through the rumor mill?.... Seems too quiet.....ANYTHING??

Relax, man! We DID sign two of the top 10 FA this offseason. That is a big deal. Losing Ray and picking up Mike Miller or JJ Reddick would have DOOOOOMED us for the length of their contracts. Losing Pierce and picking up Rasual Butler or Turkoglu and some combination of mediocre players would have been even worse. We couldn't afford anyone in the top 5, so why worry about something we had no chance in attaining? The trade deadline is in mid February--that's SEVEN months away. Teams aren't always built overnight like Miami's was last week--in fact they still have things to figure out. Have some faith in Danny and the Celtic's brass--they won us a championship and was four points away from a second one. It's a long, long offseason and an even longer season. Step back from the ledge, son!

Umm... How would you expect to sign any of these free agents?...We cant. We only have vet mins which wont be given out for a couple weeks when the rest of the pack gets signed for better deals.

Dannt has to work his trade magic because thats all hes got to work with.

We'll be fine.

After seeing how close we came to putting up Banner 18 just a few weeks ago - I'm not worried.

Like birdwatcher said - relax. Danny will get something done. I'm not crowning MIA or LA with the Championship in 10-11 just yet.

We have a long way to go until Feb11 - the trading deadline. We'll be ok - and right there in June 2011 - hopefully dealing pain and misery to LA.

we've signed Jermaine O'meal... Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen. we also have Rasheed's contract that can be used to bring James Posey back!!! ;D Nate Robinson is also said to re-signing with the C's. We're in good shape thus far. We still need another big man (Shaq or Kwame) and a shooting guard or small forward (Raja Bell, Flip Murray, Eddie House, or Grant Hill) Etc... K.G. knee will be even stronger next season, Ray will be more relaxed (not being traded and re-signing) and Paul will be healthy also.

The east will be weaker... Cavs with no Lebron = hopeless. Toronto with no Bosh = worthless

Who we get by trading Rasheed will be a big part.

Hopefully we resign Nate, or we'll need a back-up point guard to boot as well.

We have not idea who will actually be healthy. Paul, for example, was plenty healthy at the start of last season.

Did you really just say the East will be weaker? And do you actually believe that? The Heat have moved from a borderline playoff team that luckily got a 4 spot into the top 2 in the East... The already fearful bulls added Carlos Boozer and Korver (minimal but still effective), the knicks have added Amare and Stoudamire, the Bucks added Maggette... A lot of great talent from out West has shifted East.

The Cavs are the only team to get worse and they still have a decent squad without Lebron... The way I see it The Magic, Celtics, Heat, Bulls, Hawks, Bucks have all improved and that 6 teams that could possibly net a number one seed. Then there are still the Bobcats who are dangerous, New York who can still work a decent roster with all there openings, and a young Washington team that could sneak into the playoffs (longshot)... I would definitely say the East is slowly becoming the power house.

The East may now be as deep as the West now, with more contenders (although three out of the four last year were EC teams).

But NO WAY the Bulls, Hawks, or Bucks have any shot at the top seed. They will make the playoffs, but still aren't 55-60 win teams in any way.

The Bobcats may have taken a step back, NY may sneak in, as can Cleveland. And I don't expect much from the Wiz or Nets just yet. Toronto, Philly, Detroit and Indiana will all be terrible.

Well, money will dry up at some point.  So there will be some players left.  I don't like Tony leaving.  I wasn't a huge fan; however, we need all the wing defenders we can get.

At this point, I'd definitely offer Marquis Daniels the max raise he can get on his deal last year.  Perhaps a 1 year deal with a player option for the second.  After barely playing in the playoffs, I don't know if he'll get better.  And he can do most of what Tony Allen can do.

I wouldn't give up there.  I'd still at the very least try to get a Rasual Butler/Raja Bell type who can shoot the three.  And I'd even maybe roll the dice on McGrady or Iverson on top of that.  With Wade and James likely in our way for #18, we're going to need all the wings we can get.
