I am not sure if it is his best traits, but it is absolutely a strength.  He is one of the better perimeter defenders in the league, and has been for years. 

If Danny could get Hinrich, it would be great.  But I am not going to hold my breath.  I think, just like last year, his contract is a little tough to swallow as a backup.

I really doubt TA looked at the Grizzlies depth chart at the 2/3 spots and said "Gay and Mayo? Yeah, I got a good chance to start there".

It probably was the 3rd yr of the deal that we refused to give him.

What are their PG plans? Conley was a reach in a weak PG draft. How much time would Mayo and TA see together on the floor?

TA won't start on that team. Would he get playing time? Sure, but not as much as he would've on the C's. Gay last yr. played nearly 40 mpg and Mayo played 38 mpg. That will be far less than PP and Ray will be receiving this upcoming season. Let's also not forget that they drafted two swingmen in the 1st rd (Henry and Vasquez). Henry being a guy that some teams were really high on.

As for PG, they have Conley (as you mentioned) and he logged a modest 32 mpg. They also have Tinsley (don't know if he'll return) and Marcus Williams.

I am confused with people saying Bradley replaces Tony/will do what Tony did. Aren't we talking about an undersized 2 guard in Avery Bradley? I honestly don't see him standing a chance against Kobe, Lebron and probably even Wade.

Given that hinrich was just traded to Washington, we couldn't trade for him for awhile anyway (I think Dec. 15th at the earliest).

He can be traded right away.  He just couldn't be combined with anyone else for 3 months.  The December 15th date is for guys who just signed a contract, not traded.

Why is it that I haven't heard anything about Marquis Daniels?

If memory serves, he had an player option this yeat.  Given his poor second half last year, I am guessing no one is going to give him much.  I realize Quis had his problems last year, but he is a decent 4th wing when healthy. The C's obviously still need a back-up wing with a shot (which they needed anyway) and now could use a lock down defender at the 2/3. 

Bradley, at 6'3" 180 and 19 years old cannot be counted on to replace TA.  Danny has to have something up his sleeve.

Nice wingspan aside, unless Avery adds another 20 or so pounds to his frame by the start of the season, he won't be able to defend those guys.

Disappointed that one of our few remaining assets will not be used to acquire bench help.

Whether Allen isn't worth a guaranteed third year (at under $4 million) is certainly debatable.

But I would have preferred a sign and trade to bring back a center and or a wing, even if they were projected 3rd/4th stringers, rather than letting Tony walk and getting nothing. We still need some bodies.

Hamed Haddadi and either Sam Young or DeMarre Carroll, for instance. Even if neither guy is a keeper, you could in turn flip them for something else.

I thought he had a player option, but not positive.  However, the C's do have non-bird rights, which means they can sign him for 120% of his previous years salary (they have the same on Nate Robinson).
