... I just read this morning that they all took significant pay cuts to the tune of 14.5 mil for Bron and Bosh next year... and 14 mil for Wade.   Wow...  That adds up to 43 million.  Chalmers is another million... 44 million total with the cap set at 58 mil... that leaves another 14 million in cap space.   You mean to tell me that they could have actually signed a 4th max contract?  ... wow...

So how much is Mike Miller getting?  Maybe they aren't going to have too much trouble filling out the rest of that squad afterall... Miller makes like 5?... Haslem gets a few mil... a few mil here and there... goodness

Considering that Mike Miller's deal is supposed to be 5 years 25 mil... (so 5 mil max in year 1)... Does anyone else think Miami was pretty foolish for giving away Beasley for nothing?  I mean... obviously you can't knock the Heat, but they literally just gave away the #2 pick for a 2nd rounder... when it doesn't seem like they had to

Even if he gets 5 years $30 mil that doesn't mean it's going to be a starting salary of $6 mil.

"Mike Miller's expected contract with the Heat will be in the range of $25 million over five seasons, according to a league source.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have presumably taken less money in order to save room for Miller.

Wow.  I guess Wade, Bron and Bosh were serious about winning.  They are basically paying Mike Miller and a host of unnamed signings for Miami out of their own forfeited salaries.  How freaking lucky is Miami to have 2 superstars and an all-star choose your city to stage their self-funded collaboration project?

How stupid does Atlanta feel for paying Joe Johnson 6 mil per more than LeBron and Wade?  How about New York with Stoudemire?  And even Chicago with Boozer.

Don't act like Wade and LeBron are doing anything special.  The money will equal out since there is no state tax in Florida.

That doesn’t discount the fact that they left money on the table.

Ugh.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

If Bosh, Wade and Bron all wanted 17.5 million... they would have gotten 17.5 million.   They decided to take less so that they could actually get a team around there.

They bring in Mike Miller... probably bring back Haslem or something... Looks like they are trying to convince Fisher to bail on LA...  they'll find some quality role players.

Larry Coon's has an article about it.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=coon_larry&page=heatbuildingtime-100709

So apparently the Heat will hang on to some of the scrubs they already have:

Quote
So let's take stock of the Heat's assets. Aside from a commitment from the Big Three of LeBron, Bosh and Wade, they have third-year point guard Mario Chalmers and an outstanding qualifying offer to reserve center Joel Anthony. The qualifying offer establishes the Heat's right of first refusal (making Anthony a restricted free agent), and counts against the team's cap. They also have three second-round picks from this year's draft: center Dexter Pittman, and forwards Jarvis Varnado and Da'Sean Butler.

And then there's the cap room. After accounting for Chalmers, Anthony, the contract guarantee on released guard James Jones and various cap holds (the second-round picks don't count on their cap until they are signed), the Heat amassed a staggering $49.85 million in spending money.

I wasn't facotring in Dexter Pittman, Jarvis Varnando, Da'Sean Butler and Joel Anthony.... so apparently those losers push it to $50 million...

Quote
Had James, Wade and Bosh received their full maximum salary (about $16.57 million each), only about $1.56 million would have remained. But true to their word that it was about wins and not about money, each took less so that the Heat could pursue quality players. Sources told ESPN.com that James and Bosh signed for $14.5 million and Wade $14 million, leaving the Heat with nearly $8.3 million to spend.
...
One persistent rumor has the Heat using some of their leftover cap room to add sharpshooting Mike Miller to the lineup, and Miller is reportedly close to agreeing with the team on a deal totaling $25 million over five years -- which would start at around $4.3
...
Once Miller is on board the team would have just $4 million remaining to spend on free agents. It is possible Riley will try to use this money to persuade forward Udonis Haslem to return to the team.

So they got roughly $4 mil left after Mike Miller signs if they decide to keep those 2nd round scrubs.  I still say they would have been better off just hanging onto Beasley.  Lol

You are right, according to a financial analyst(expert) that espn spoke with, said Lebron will actually make (1)million more than he would have in Cleveland at the end of the day.tp

Nice and good on Lebron and the other 2 amigos for being so generous.  Any chance he could do another telethon for boys and girls club of Miami?
