I can't believe people are still bringing up Ben Wallace.
Why not?
He had a very, very good year last year (look at the numbers; MUCH improved over his time in Cleveland). He's an unrestricted free agent. He's probably going to play another season or two. He played last year at the veteran minimum, and likely will again this season. He's a guy that's always struck me as a warrior, a guy who would fit in perfectly next to KG and Pierce and Rondo and Perk.
The only issue with Ben Wallace is that he has a very close relationship with Joe Dumars and is *likely* going back to Detroit. But, Detroit's a mediocre team, they need a center but with or without Ben Wallace they aren't a playoff squad.
So, why SHOULDN'T we be talking about Ben Wallace? Back up O'Neill through the All-Star break, then JO shifts over into more of a backup-PF spot. Big Game Davis is still around, but could then be let go as part of a trade with 'Sheed to get us a wing.
Who'd you rather have Danny calling to be the backup 5? Kwame?
