I think Posey is the perfect fit for Sheed's contract.

He makes around the same amount as Sheed and only has one more year on his contract after the upcoming season. During the Celtics championship year he showed himself as a big defender great at guarding the elite players in the game such as Kobe and Lebron. TA did the same this year. To be able to throw out two players who can play spurts of elite defense off the bench would be the perfect thing for this team. He can also shoot the 3 which is something the second unit needs.

Admittedly I have not watched him much in the past two years in New Orleans but if his skills have no diminished too greatly I think he is a perfect fit.

Thoughts?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

No he's done.  His contract is terrible and HE'S NOT COMING BACK!

Danny knew that Posey was not worth the money and that he was only going to get worse especially leaving the Celtics.

Celtics fans need to get over it!  James Posey is WASHED UP!   He's DONE!  He's NOT COMING BACK HERE!

every one seems to think he got fat and went into major decline.  I'm more apt to think he got bored and could easily round back into his previous Celtic form.  the guy is seriously clutch from 3.  Not like he's played tons of minutes.  Can't imagine he just lost it all of a sudden.  I'd be psyched to get him back and then hope I'm right :P

Rather get Varejao but not likely.

If you have watched a lot of Hornets games recently then I will take your word on him being washed up.

However I don't think is contract is an impediment. He only has two more years on it, one of which could be a lock out.

The Posey we want to see back in the Celtics green no longer exists.

He has been replaced by a slower, over payed version of him.

Danny's not gonna trade for the contract he wouldn't offer Posey in the first place.

Besides, have you seen Posey play these last 2 seasons? His game has taken a sharp decline. No thank you.

Like I always say: James Posey is not walking back through that door.

I believe Posey was hurt, that's why he wasn't playing well.  That being said, I'd rather go after someone like Battier.

Posey was the most unselfish player I've ever seen on the court. Never seemed to care about getting his on the court. I can't think of one single time. For me, he was the perfect teammate.

Great thought. You've got to start game-planning for Miami and how you'll defend them without burning out Pierce and Allen. Also he can do time on Kobe, if we get that far.

I didn't see Posey play at all for New Orleans. If he truly is washed up, then of course Danny won't go get him. But if he was hurt, or just hated being there, he is the type of player we could use. During his last stint, he proved he can defend elite NBA scorers, if he can still do this, we should take advantage of the fact that New Orleans is really trying to shed money. If Danny thinks Posey can guard Lebron and Kobe, he should go get him. I'm sure New Orleans would be willing to throw in some picks or players in addition to posey for us taking that contract. Maybe something like Posey and Julian Wright for Rasheed?  Again, all of this is contingent upon Danny believing Posey can still guard Lebron and Kobe.

And I think this team was really missing Ubuntu. They should bring it back, and Posey could be the perfect person to start that.

Chuckle. Even Posey.

We usually save our love for the guys who can't play - like the 2006 bunch.
