Eddie seems like exactly the kind of player the heat are hoping to fill our their roster with. He's experienced, been through the playoffs, will sign for the minimum, and can hit open shots, which he would get A LOT of on that team. If he's willing to come back, I'd take him over Lafayette and Gaffney. We're in win now mode.

i think Nate works against the celtic system as he needs the ball in his hands to create, granted sometimes he creates some magical moments.  Eddie sits outside and waits for the defense to collapse, ready to throw daggers, both are so different with the exception of size i don't see how both can hold a place on the roster.  i suspect Nate wants MORE money then we can obviously afford.

I'd love to have Eddie back. Maybe he can be our shooting coach if there's no room on the roster.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

I think the C's can pay the max they are allowed to pay Nate under the cap rules (something like 4 million.) I don't think he'll get more than that elsewhere. And I like having a high utilization guy off the bench that can get to the hoop or shoot a 3pt. You cannot have everyone on the second unit passing up big shots.

You can add ex-Celtic Eddie House to the list of players the Celtics have had some discussions about signing this summer.

Why Danny? No thanks.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
My guess is that Fisher goes to Miami, leaving House on the table as an option.

But I'd rather talk to Nate first.

Why Danny? Are you serious. If we had eddie house rather than nate we could of had 18 championships.Ray Allen missed 0-16 3s after game 2 and had no one to make for it. Nate is an awesome player but we dont need him we need 3 point shooters like eddie house. He was one of the reasons why boston had their 17th banner raised to the rafters. He has a quick release and a play to rely on to make shots.

That's a serious leap to say Eddie House would have done better than Ray Allen.  Ray played outstanding defense on Kobe which is why the series went as far as it did.  My what short memories we have.

Agreed.  I think the Cs need to stock the bench with young talent to help bridge the generation gap and in the hopes that one of these guys "lights" turns on.

Nate is a dynamic guy.  At times, he seems not to get it, but he seemed to really like playing for a contender last year, not on a team of scrubs like the Knicks.

I'd like to see how he does after a full training camp and a regular season.  I'd bet he could surprise.  I also really like his competitive spirit.  I'd like him back on the bench for the Cs.

If the Cs can bring back TA and NateRob (at reasonable deals) then ideally Sheeds contract is used to address the backup SF and big man positions.
Celtics fan for life.

+1. Plus don't forget that Eddie was drafted by Miami in 2000. It wouldn't be that hard for him to come back to the team that first gave him a shot in the NBA.

Fine, let Rondo run circles around him.  I don't care what three guys Miami has.  They need a REAL PG and a REAL center or they ain't doin' squat.

  • You say when......
Look, Eddie was great here..but his time has passed. We need more than a shooter for an extra guy. Nate can do way more...Nate's D is top notch, fast, layups, dunks, shooting...what are you thinking..nostalgia....quit that junk...An extra guard....need a taller, or faster guy with better D..look who is coming our way....defense, defense and defense...isn't he going to take Avery's minutes..? If so..????  Dumb stuff..draft em and sit em...duh. That is how you end up with old guys.....Better to have extra big guys than extra shooters..Eddie will find a home.  We need 2 more 6'10" guys here.what dream next..tyron lue..sam cassell...WE NEED HEIGHT, youth, and athletic ability....
