We can get him for the minimum since he will most likely no longer be with the Cavs.

Would you incur the risk and take him back?

NO. Why does everyone loves tweeners so much? Ridiculous.

For the minimum?   Yup.

But I doubt he signs anywhere for the minimum.

So you're saying even if he was a model citizen you wouldn't want him on your team?

Why is it rediculous to like the way Delonte West plays. He is a tweener...who can guard two positions and shoot the ball well from outside. Yeah...no room for a guy like that on a winning team. ::)

For the minimum HELL YES!  But like shookeones said I don't think he signs anywhere for the minimum.

I like Delonte because he plays really hard but I don't really trust him with the ball. I always felt better for the C's when Delonte was in the game in the playoffs. He's a poor ball handler and I think it affects his decision making sometimes. He just appears shaky with the ball to me. I mean.. for the minimum? Ya sure. But that ain't happenin'.

Let's offer Gomes and Delonte the vet min. They helped us trade for the big 3 now it's times they actually get to play with them.

Unfortunately neither is coming for the vet min and if LeBron doesn't go back to Cleveland they probably hang onto him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If Cleveland lets go of him I dont see anyone commiting any kind of contract to him. They would be crazy to offer anything more.

Heck it would be a risk for us too just at the min! Think about it the guy is basically clinically insane.

That being said I have alot of faith in people to turn their lives around and while Delonte was here with Doc Rivers, he never has any off the court issues.

If he signs for the minimum (and he didn't bang LBJ's mom) - why wouldn't he go to Miami?

He could be their starting PG or a backup guard getting a ton of minutes.

He is why I wished the Celts had been able to sign JO for 4-4.5 so they could offer more than vet minimum and a chance to win.

FWIW - he would be the perfect guard off the bench for this team (ignoring off court issues):

1. He can handle the ball enough to backup Rondo
2. He can shoot well enough to play in the half court with Rondo
3. He can run the wing on the break
4. He plays great D against SG and good D against PG

If the C's got him for the min and pickup a SF with Sheed's contract, our bench will be the best it's been in big 3 era. JO, Baby, TBD (please let it be Marvin Williams), and West as the rotation.

Another option would be a S&T of Tony Allen and a pick or cash for West (if CLE is letting him go anyways.)

It'd be tempting; however, given the fact that we now have a combo guard in Avery Bradley, we'd probably be better served getting a true 3.

LOL.  Delonte West is a nutcase.  He won't have Lebron on his team so the next time he pulls some crazy stunt he won't be spared by the league.  And just because he didn't go crazy while here, doesn't mean he won't the next time.  I don't think Delonte likes being a bench player.  Ever since he's been moved to the bench, he's been a problem.

NO!

I would love delonte. I've always thought he was the perfect combo guard coming off the bench. He can legitimately play the point for stretches, he can play the two, he's an excellent shooter, he can create for others, he's an above average rebounder for his size and will even get in there and block shots and dive on the floor. When he was with the Celtics, we saw him hit game winning shots, he was clearly the number two option behind pierce in clutch situations. And for all of his psychological problems, he seemed very happy and content in Boston. He has always been a character, but he was under control while here. I'd love to have Delonte back as bench guard, I'd take him over nate.

Rondo/ Bradley/ Dwest
Ray / Dwest/ Tony
PP / Tony/ Gomes
KG/ Baby / Gomes
Perk/ JO / Kwame

Haha maybe this thread shows who's been a fan of the Celtics since only the post-KG era. Delonte was awesome and was loved here.
