What about Gortat?  Any chance the Magic would trade him our way?

Marcin Gortat said recently he thinks he'll be traded by the Magic soon.

The Mavericks probably aren't thrilled to hear this after the Magic matched their offer to the free agent a year ago. This is also in line with what we reported a couple weeks ago, which was that the Magic won't hesitate to trade the talented big man. Where he's going, however, is anyone's guess.

This is crazy talk. Orlando would never hand the team that just knocked them out of the playoffs a solid 7 footer...

And the odds of Orlando sending Gortat to one of their biggest rivals (filling said rival's biggest need) are......    NIL!

You're talking about the same team who was dumb enough to pay Brandon Bass AND Gortat over 50 million combined to play a combined 21.4 minutes per game in the playoffs. They also traded for Vince Carter thinking he would take them to the promised land.

I wouldnt put anything past them!

They are spending money to acquire talent. Very different.

I don't see them helping us.

They trade Gortat to get someone that will make them better.

They do not trade Gortat to save money.

Got a hunch Gortat might be headed to NY.  Tweet on hoopshype says NY and Orlando trying to work a S&T so that Al Harrington can go to Orlando.  I'm sure Harrington would take mid-level money to go to the Magic and Gortat is the kind of guy D'Antoni would be high on.

Then they are making a terrible trade.

Yeah, awful trade and I don't believe it for a second. No point in bringing in Al Harrington when you have two superior players with his skill-set (Rashard Lewis + Ryan Anderson)

If Orlando is trading Gortat, think Shane Battier. That is the ball park. An elite role player who will likely be a stopper on the wing. Or possibly a scorer like JR Smith, again likely a wing.
