It's looking more and more like any wing we want is going to have to come via a Rasheed trade.  So I'd rule any sign and trades out.  There's no real point in signing and trading someone for cap space (unless there's something bigger going on).

all about the mike miller s&t for sheeds deal while resigning TA for D purposes....

I feel like we would have to give up a pick to convince Washington to do a sign and trade.
I like Turiaf and Morrow for Sheed. Gives us a young wing to groom under Ray and rids GSW of a bad contract.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

It might take more than a pick too.  Washington clears no space, since if they want to clear space, they can just renounce Miller.  And given the way that some teams were trying to trade out of the late first round, a first round pick could be more of a burden than an incentive.

I don't see it happening.

What's in it for Washington? They're losing Miller anyway, so nothing is in it for them.

Rudy Fernandez is on my most hated player list. I don't view him as a team guy.

Please elaborate, I don't know the guy.  Isn't he supposed to be the second coming of Manu Ginobili?

I would prefer both Ronnie Brewer and Josh Howard.

Saying Rudy Fernandez is the next Manu Ginobili is like saying Brandon Rush is the next Paul Pierce

well, their stats are not so different if you compare Manu's 2 first years and Rudy's career.

Should consider that Rudy's production fell since injuries came, and McMillan played him less minutes at the 2 (Roy eats a lot of time, unlike Ray) forcing him to play at the 1 and the 3. His progression might be in danger, but he's very good.

He could become a Ginobili or a Danilovic, going back to Europe. He's now in that crossroad, and I'd like the Celtics to take a chance on him. Ginobili was 25 in his rookie season, while Rudy is 25 to start his 3rd NBA season. I think Rudy is more skilled than Manu at 25 y.o.

I don't know about Brandon Rush, but Rudy will be leading Spanish Team in the World Championship... and his stock will probably (hopefully  ;D) rise.

Gaffney/Lafayette and a future first round pick might be enough for Portland, alongside some cash consideration (is it within the rules?) would be a good deal now.

I really liked Fernandez in his rookie year.  But it's strange that a second year player would regress.  He looked horrible every time I saw him last year.  He looked like a pretty wild and careless player.

Yep.  He absolutely looked clueless every time I saw him play too.  He is overrated because of how well he played overseas, but he hasn't played well in the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised to find Portland fans glad to be rid of him.

why'd you post this twice?

Mistake. Wanted to put it in this Forum category but messed up.

If not Rudy though, what about Marvin Williams from Atlanta for a backup SG? Then possibly Kuyle Korver?? Don't really like him but he plays hard. One player I'd like to have though is AK47. Has great team skills but dosn't really have the head. but hes a stat sheet filler and does everything. S&T for him?

I said the same thing about AK47 , I think he would be one helluva a move.

I always had a crush on AK47.  I had dreams of him being a Celtic. lol  How on earth could we manage to get him on the team with the salary he makes? That would be better than any move we can make.  I'd love it.

For one thing, Fernandez hates living in Portland—and he certainly hasn't made the effort to keep quiet about it. He's even gone so far as to complain about being lonely with the Blazers. Without his former teammate and best friend, Sergio Rodriguez, chances are he hasn't had a shoulder to cry on either.
