If JO is signed for all or most of the MLE, then Sheed's contract becomes our only means of filling the next biggest hole on the team: a back-up who can shoot.

From scouring the salaries index at Sham Sports, I've composed the following list of wings (defined pretty loosely to keep this list from getting too small) who might be made available in a salary dump:

James Posey (2 yrs/$13.4 mil)
Leandro Barbosa (2 yrs/$14.7 mil)
Mo Pete (1 yr/$6.2 mil)
Jason Kapono (1 yr/6.6 mil)
Nocioni (2 yrs/13.5 mil)
Daniel Gibson (3 yrs/13.2 mil, last yr partially guaranteed) + either Jamario Moon or Anthony Parker (each at 1 yr around 3 mil)
Luke Walton (3yrs/16.7mil)
Boris Diaw (2 yrs/18 mil)

Hardly an inspiring list.  My favorite option is Boobie Gibson's contract plus Moon, contingent of course on LeBron's departure from Cleveland.

Starters: Rubio, Danny Green, Durant, Markieff Morris, Capela

Yikes....really not much out there that we can work with

from the list...I would say either Barbosa or Nocioni

I actually don't like anyone from the list..but if I had to pick...I would choose those 2.

I would put Barbosa first and actually consider Mo Pete second. He is a decent wing and i like the fact that his contract expires after next season. We can give him a one year ride, if it works out we can sign him for less if not we can use the contract for trade bait.

Try to get Fernandez or Morrow; those two would both be amazing fits.

How would you get them with Sheed's contract?  Any trade ideas?

Battier for Sheed works straight up, though now they are out of the Bosh and Boozer, and probably Lee sweepstakes they have less motivation to move Battier, but they get a whiff of Lee I guess they still might want to clear the cap space of Battier's contract.

  • Rondo = Good
I'd be okay with Barbosa, though he doesn't really play SF so Ray and TA (assuming he's re-signed) would have to play most of the backup SF minutes.
