This is huge. I expected a contract along the lines of $40 million over 3 years.

2 years 20 million sounds great to me.  Ray Allen is, as always, one of the classiest guys in the NBA.  He could've gotten $40 million over 3 years from some dumb team but he's gonna stay in Boston with a real chance to close out his career on a winning note.

Gotta love Ray Ray.  Now let's get him some support so he doesn't have to play a ton of minutes.

Looks like they paid him more per year to take only two years. 

It would be a shame for him if he gets traded in year two as an expiring contract.

If this is true, it's a phenomenal deal and potentially a bigger sacrifice than PP.  He very well could've gotten more if he waited around to see what team got silly.  

And don't underestimate the two years.  Three years from now the C's really only are committed to Rondo, PP, and Avery Bradley.  If they want to make some noise in the FA market, they may be able to.
