While it's too much money for Boozer, he's the #2 PF on my FA board behind Bosh this summer, with David Lee #3 and Amare a distant #4.  I think he's better than Lee at being able to create his own in the half-court.  So I suppose it wasn't too much, since the pressure was on to get a top PF and only 2 are left, with more than 2 teams still having cap space.

If they get the top SG available, too, they'll be contenders this year, much to our discontent, as that SG is Ray.

It's starting to look awefully bad for New Jersey, though...and the Clips, I guess, who will probably overpay Outlaw now, much to our ill fortune.

The Bulls and Knicks seem like front runners for Ray now--he's just the type of piece they need to contend.

Giving that much money to Boozer eats up too much of their cap room.  There's no way the Bulls can now offer Ray a contract that Ainge won't happily match.  Likewise in New York, if they sign LeBron then they don't have the money for Ray...and he sure ain't going there without James.

Ray could still walk, but it looks like it won't be over money.

IF he does walk, it WILL be over money.  None of these other teams will have enough ponies to win this year, except Chicago if he goes there.  There is no reason to leave, except money, or years and years of money, but money still.

The bulls still have enough room to offer another max contract. They have room to sign ray.

Boozer for 80 million? Dumb move.

They could have waited, risked getting nothing (which was okay for the Bulls since they have Rose, Deng, and Noah anyways.) I bet they could have gotten him for 12-14 a year. 16 Per? Ugh... that hampers who else they can sign, and may make it tough to resign Noah.

I'm a fan too. Entertaining when he speaks his mind.

Boozer' pretty good, it's a lot of money but he's basically a 20/10 guy and plays some D.  Pretty [dang] consistent, night-in and night-out.

Even if they can land Ray Allen or Mike Miller (assuming LeBron to NY), that's a helluva solid team.  They need a shooter like Ray or Miller, but it's a pretty good balance.

Rose
Allen/Miller
Deng
Boozer
Noah

Should be pretty good on both ends of the floor.  Thibs will have them playing pretty good D.

Too much $ but helps them out just the same. Another scorer/rebounder and a legit low post guy. Rose, Boozer, Noah, Dneg is pretty solid.

Good signing by the Bulls.  They get some much needed help at the 4, especially offensively.  A legit post presence is what they need.

I'm not too hopeful that they'll get Lebron.  If they don't, I'd still look to shop Deng around.  I don't really like him at the 3 on this team and, if they don't get Lebron, I still feel they have a weakness on the wing even with Deng there.

(My God, if they could ever finagle a way to get Melo on that team  :o)

I don't think the Bulls do this without concluding that Lebron is not coming to Chicago.

If Lebron stays in Cleveland, the liklihood of Ray Allen leaving for $$ increases. Bulls, Knicks and Heat can make good offer to him without sign and trade. How much value does Ray put in retiring a Celtic? Less than Paul Pierce, obviously. Still, Ray has given all indications he wanted to stay here; let's see if Danny gives him a good enough deal to keep him.

The Bulls have needed a big man who can score for many years now, and they just got it in Boozer.  There was no question that wherever he went, he was signing for the max, so I don't count this as "overpaying".  Bulls had a position of need and just filled it.  Now, if this is true, it means LBJ is not headed to Chicago, which sucks for Chicago.

Yeah, the losers in the FA sweeps are emerging.  Does either one overpay for Ray?  That's a big question for C's fans.

Outlaw?  Hmmm, maybe.  He's obviously younger than Ray but Ray spreads the floor.
