Is Tracy McGrady an option for the celts or is that a would not touch him with a nine and half foot pole situation?

I seriously doubt he would come of the bench so this is probably an no go, but might be worth Danny looking into since people have almost completely forgotten about him.

For the vet min, maybe... maybe a little more, but not much, and he has to be willing to come off the bench definitely.

at this point in his career, I don't see why he wouldn't come off the bench for a good team. I don't think he has an Iverson type attitude. If anything, he's just lazy. He and Doc know each other from their magic days, so it might work out. I don't know how healthy he is or will ever be though.

I don't understand the T-Mac hate.  I think we're in trouble if he's our solution for the loss of Ray.  But if he and TA backup Pierce and Ray next year, we'll be stronger at the 2/3 than we were last year.

At the MLE it's a no-brainer.  He clearly proved he wasn't done last year and would certainly be a huge upgrade at the 2/3 over the likes of Michael Finley and Marquis Daniels.

Why?  What did he do last year that would make him worth the MLE?

This.

I'd also offer vet min or a little more to Allen Iverson and Shaq.

If the C's could get one productive year out of these guys, then it could help the team in a big way.

It's a player like him I wish we had to LLE to use on him. A few teams will be willing to throw the vet min at him, but none the whole MLE.

I say offer him the VM and see if he's interested. Best we can do.

How about dropping 26 in his debut last year against the Thunder.  But you're right he is definitely not worth the MLE.  I'd like to get him for the vet min, maybe and this is a big MAYBE a little more.

Actually, that was my typo.  I meant to say the minimum.  My bad.

I wouldn't do the MLE unless things go very badly for us.

Thoughts on T-Mac
1. Only at the Vet Min preferably non guaranteed.
2. He was coming off Microfracture surgery which usually takes a while to recover from.
3. It's not like he's ancient, he's younger than all of the big three (31)
4. What better way to give his career some life than catch on with a contending team.
5. He probably has a good relationship with Doc from his Orlando days.
6. Even if we sign on, he can't be counted on. If we sign him but have no other options it's a bad signing. If we sign him but don't count on him and he plays great we've made a great move. Low reward high risk.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Well, I was more thinking along the lines of us missing out on every other possible MLE candidate and the choice of paying him the MLE or no one else.

I might risk it then.

On a terrible Knicks team, with that big game included, he averaged 9.4 points with 38% shooting (24% from 3 point land)

Throw in how much worse the Knicks were defensively when he was on the court vs off, I am missing the positive, even if it was for the league min.

I rather spend the spot on a real roll player.  One of the defender/shooters (like Jones who was just released to create cap room)
