I went with no...

Nash, a more affordable Richardson and the weather of Phoenix could attract some nice free agents in 2011. So unless you can get some real value i don't see a point in moving him.

The Suns are still a playoff team next season.

Yes, get what you can while Nash is still in his prime and move forward with Drajic.

They may be a playoff team, but are they ok with just getting knocked out in the first round? With Amare gone they are in some serious trouble.

Richardson comes off the books next year, Nash has two years left on his deal. They have some good young talent, Frye, Dudley, Lopez, Dragic, I would start building around these guys now. Nash is going to be 36, he can still be a HUGE piece on a contending team. (except the fact that Steve cant even spell Defense) Hes owed 10 Mil this year and almost 12 next, I would think a team would be willing to pick of his contract for a title push.

I completely agree with how attractive of a piece Nash would be to a contending team.  Imagine him on Atlanta or wherever Lebron goes!  But if you're Phoenix, what do you want in return for him?  I can't think of any type of deal that you would trade him for.  Any team that would have good rebuilding chips to deal away aren't contending, so wouldn't want Nash.  I also can't think of too many competing teams that do have good chips to trade away.  I voted no.

Would NJ trade Devin Harris and a future first for him?  Would Phoenix do it also?  Imagine NJ then signs Ray Allen and Lebron.

Nash/Dooling
Ray Allen/Lee
Lebron/Williams
Favors/Humphries
Lopez/Boone

That team has very poor depth, but man, those starters is a scary combo!  They'd probably have more money left to spend on upgrading their bench also.

When Amare was out for the season with an injury, the Suns did just as well.

Now i'm just throwing this out there for argument sake. What about Orlando? They can offer Nelson and Pietrus. The suns get some young pieces back and can start to rebuild.

How about Portland? Nash, Roy and Aldridge would be one heck of a big 3. They have some young pieces to move.
I just think there are teams that could offer a pretty decent package.

What do you guys think?

Nice, I like the ideas, I'll bounce back some feedback.  Although I said I don't think there is an offer out there, I'm very intrigued to prove that statement wrong and find one.

Nelson and Pietrus?  Hmm.  They are both very good complimentary pieces on a team, but I don't know if I'd trade Nash for them.  If I'm trading Nash, I need a player that I can build a franchise around.  Would Orlando even do it?

Portland is definitely one of those teams that could use Nash.  What do you think they could offer?

Yes. Blow it up. Get a trade exception. Get young prospects. Get future picks. Suck for a bit and get some high draft picks. Save as much money as possible and hope you can pull off an OKC (or Boston).

I don't think you can get a player that you can build around back for Nash. Maybe a very nice project guy.

Portland almost has to include Andre Miller just to make the salary work. Would Portland give up a Miller/Rudy/Bayless? OR how about Miller/Rudy and Batum? I know Portland is Very high on Batum so who knows what they would be willing to offer.

Would It be worth trying to get Oden away from the blazers. IF he ever pans out Lopez/Oden could be quite the Duo.

I wouldn't. Then again I'm still wicked high on him. I expect Portland to be a big time team next year with their size, length and B Roy.

Do you think Nash can get them past the Lakers? If yes then you do it. I think its as simple as that. What do you think Nash has 2 great years left in him?

If Oden can become the player the Blazers thought he could then of course you keep him.

Nash
Roy
Batum or Rudy
Aldridge
Camby

Thats a very solid starting unit. Can you get the pieces around that unit to make it work is a completely different argument.

No, I think Oden with Miller at PG knock the Lakers out actually.

Length, size, off guard perimeter defense and scoring is the blue print to beating the Lakers. Nash helps you in one of those categories.
