Why anyone expects anything out of these glorified schoolyard games escapes me. I see NOTHING out there worth keeping.

True, but I would invite Parkhouski, Lafayette and Harangody to training camp. Maybe even Jaycee Carroll. No contracts just training camp. Anyone we do sign better be able to at least beat them out for a roster spot. One or two of them may be necessary to fill out the roster on a non guaranteed contract until we fill out the roster.

I like what Semih is bringing today. He looks like he’s starting to figure it out.

I agree.  He hasn't done much, but finally looks comfortable out there.

Erden is a body ... he might have some upside, but his 6 fouls are more important.  Hopefully he is good enough that Doc at least is not petrified to use him in a pinch.

I've seen Erden play.  Far from awful.  Raw, yes.  Awful, No.

I see a prospect with a super soft touch around the basket, 15 ft range from the outside with a good look, and nimble feet for a big guy. He can rebound, and provides a shot blocking presence at times. He'll run the floor. Now develop him.  He's quick off that screen and roll, even though he still needs work on his screens, and some other fundamentals that involve more technique than skill.  Shape up the technique with some coaching, and 2-3 years down the road he'll get even more time out there on the floor.

My guess is he plays the Stojko Vrankovic role out there this year (a lot of DNP's, minutes here and there during blow outs, etc.), while he continues to develop his game.  I think Ainge finds other veterans that take his role for now.

He did not look like an all star, but I agree that he looked Much Much better today.  And I really believe we need a couple Tall backups in the front court.  I hope he is starting to feel comfortable and continues to get better.

So far in 2 games he hasn't shown any of the attributes you mention. Did you see him put up an airball from 1 foot away today?

I think he's shown that he's quick on his feet. If he ever got any minutes with Rondo you would see him get a lot of easy baskets cause he rolls fast...actually too fast cause he skips the screen part haha. He can rebound and he has really good hands. He hasn't proven anything else to me yet but I think he does at least have some potential. At the very least he's a 7 footer which counts for a little. I also like his attitude, he seems to have a toughness about him that I think will work well with this team.

He did look much better today -- progressed from awful to mediocre. Today, he was pushed around, and played no post defense to speak on. Nathan Jawai, of all people, torched him in the second half.

The real question may be what can Brian Doo do with him?

No, didn't see that.  I saw him hit the backboard only on a 17 ft jumper in which he rushed.  Around the basket, I saw him grab every rebound in his range and had what, 7 rebounds in the first 13 minutes ?  I saw him put back a couple shots from 1 ft away.

He's extremely raw, thats what jumps out to me.  He's not in the NBA because he puts up air balls from 1 foot away.

I am not sure what you were watching. He didn't have 7 rebounds the entire game.

I was asking.  Was it 7 ? Could of been 5, 6.  He also only shot the ball 4 or 5 times.  A couple were from 1 ft away.  He didn't play a ton of minutes.

Regardless, he's still raw and a project.
