Semih did look bad but his deal is not guaranteed, so DA can cut him before training camp, but I think a lot of you are sleeping on Art Parakhouski, he did a good job, got 10 rebs. The only reason he did not score a lot more is cause Oliver and Green did not go to him more. He is the sleeper in summer league. the 2 touches he got in the post he converted. I hope we sign Art he will get better, and has a nose for rebounds, will get better in the NBA cause the court is a lot more open.
Harangody is a NBA player no doubt, Oliver should back up rondo the kid is awesome, he was the best player out both teams.
OKC beat us but they needed 6 players from their current team to beat us, how embarrassing for them, and if Oliver took Eric Maynor to school than he must be great.

Sounds like this Art guy could be a find, lets hear how he looked on the defense and rebounding

Do the Celtics have room for both Art P and Erden on the regular roster?

I've read some reports that Erden might develop into a guy who plays some minutes at PF.  Did they ever put Erden on the floor at the same time as one of the other centers?

Defense on summer league is always disorganized but he has strong fundamentals. But I was like a crack head just hoping Oliver would dump the ball on the post so I could see if Art could do it again.. lol But the 2 times he got it he scored, I know he can kill it on the boards (he got more offensive rebs than Ibaka) But i really want to see if the scoring is for real or not, cause if it is than we got a steal. Along with Gody and Oliver who is just awesome and should take The back up spot behind rondo

Sure, he got beat and made to look bad a few times, but he was very active on defense, he got up and down the floor pretty well, he got all  those boards, and he did some scoring when he was given  the chance.  I thought it was a fairly impressive first outing.  I think he could make his way onto the team for his rebounding and defense--but probably the offense is there as well.

However, Art's last name does sound like something they do in NH.   ;)

Let's give him at least for a few games the benefit of the doubt. The guy just got here from far away and I'm sure needs a week or two to adjust.
Agreed.

So, here are a few questions for those who watched him play:

How well does he run the floor? -Very slowly.  One play I remember thinking "Ahhh, here he has finally decided to come up and join the offense."

When he fouls someone, does he foul hard? -Didn't really see it.  He didn't seem to do anything hard.

If you view him as a project that is not expected to contribute this season, does he look like a guy who has the physical tools to play the serviceable NBA defense that one would expect from a decent backup center?  (If Erden's upside is to be as good as Darko Milicic is now and he realizes that upside, that would be tremendous value for the slot Erden was drafted in.) -Like the accounts previous to mine, he just looked lost out there.  He was mentally a step slow in everything he did and really just looked like he didn't care to hustle at all.  It's possible that it was a new offense to him and he was mentally focused on where to be that he wasn't just playing.  He had one dunk that he got the ball up very quickly like Gasol.  But that was literally the only positive I saw from him all night.

How much practice time did he get? How long has he been in the US?  Was he on a plane from Turkey yesterday? -No idea to any of these.

Really, this guy was very unimpressive all around.  I'd give him one or 2 more games to show something, but if he doesn't and we see more the same of this, he's a bust.  He really just looked lost and very uncomfortable.

Aren't you dying to hear Tommy trying to pronounce it for the first time? That alone makes him worth the 15th man spot :)

Next time, let someone else pass the ball to the PG so he has time to run up for some offense because sometimes somebody already take a shot and he is still on the half-way line.

Didn't Erden just fly into Orlando a few days ago? I don't think he's really had a lot of time to get acclimated or practice or learn the offense or the defense or the like.

If nothing else, Erden is a big body who has played against pretty good competition.  I'm willing to give him a chance -- and potentially a year or two -- so long as he's not being asked to be anything more than the 15th man on the roster.

I think people get worked up too much about our roster fodder.  Erden will probably never contribute to the Celtics, but he's worth a shot.  Since he won't prevent us from signing better players, all we're talking about is a waste of about $450k, which is peanuts in the NBA.

Were over the CAP either way!!! j/k.

What could his guaranteed/non guaranteed contract be worth?  He can't be making anything more than vet min.

Gulliver's Travels 1/10
Grown Ups -20/10
Tron Legacy 6.5/10

He's making the rookie minimum.  This year, that's $473,604.
