Why are people bagging on this deal? I would have loved for Danny to sign Darko to this deal, very fair. He's a solid starting center and an excellent backup big.

That's a lot of money for a guy who's a good backup at best.

It's actually not that bad of a deal, and compares favorably to what Orlando paid for Gortat last year, and what Charlotte is paying for Diop, to mention a few.

... and what Charlotte's paying Nazr, and what Sacramento's paying Dalembert, and what New Orleans is paying Okafor........  this is a game we can play all day!

don't think this is a bad move at all. drafting darko at 2  (leaving melo etc on the board) was a bad move. but 4 years $20m for a young shot blocking center who plays D is not stupid.

all they need darko to do is protect the basket and grab a few boards. that's what were asking perk to do for quite a bit more money.

plus, once he got to sota and got some real minutes playing next to love and jeff his numbers improved significantly. I'll bet if he starts he'll  average somewhere around 9 points, 8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. perk like numbers at a discount price.

I agree, this is a good deal for a young defensive center. Drew Gooden's deal is terrible for the bucks, but this is a good deal for the TWolves.

If Minny had given Darko a four deal for twenty dollars let alone twenty million dollars it would have been a bad deal. 

Darko doesn't give a #@#% about basketball, is incredibly immature, and hates the NBA. He says so in just about any interview. That's why he sucks and always will suck.

What is really unbelievable is the GM in Minnesota is trying to dump Al Jefferson in order to give his minutes to Darko.  It's like if Washington decided to give Randy Foye more minutes and traded John Wall!

Darko is worth 4/20 (actually a good deal), but just not in Minny. He's a finishing piece, not a building block.

5 mil per is not outrageous for a player who averaged 8/5/1.5 blocks for you in 25 mpg last year.
