 In the ESPN report they mention they also signed their second round pick for 13 mil, a euro center. WOW! they released gomes, are trying desperately to trade big al, and just gave darko 20 mil.
 pretty soon, they'll be calling for McHale to come back!

The Darko deal sounds good to me. 5 million per year, for 3-4 years is a decent tag for a 7 footer who's got a big body and can block shots.

Darko's also still getting better, and Gooden pretty much is who he is. 

Darko's deal doesn't strike me as bad at all.  Legit seven footers who play good D and grab rebounds aren't easy to find, and are always going to get paid a premium over smaller guys.  If he's giving them 25 good minutes a game (starting or off the bench), that's a fair deal.

Hell, what did 'Sheed get from us last year?  Three years and $16M(+/- a bit)?  Darko basically signed the equivalent of a four-year MLE deal.

It's actually not that bad of a deal, and compares favorably to what Orlando paid for Gortat last year, and what Charlotte is paying for Diop, to mention a few.
