He says that Raptors get Beasley, Chalmers, and Anthony...

I doubt Miami would give up Chalmers in this scenario since Toronto has no use for him.

Maybe not tampering if Bosh said to Toronto he'd go to Miami and had no actual discussions with miami?

Yep. If true, it probably means the big 3 in South Beach.

Who's running the point?  Who's their center?

I feel a lot better about matching up against Wade and Bosh in Miami, versus a LeBron/Rose/Bosh/Noah/Deng combination in Chicago.

Yeah you can just give the trophy to South Beach if that happens right now.  There is a reason we play the games though, so you never know.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think LeBron doesn't go to Miami even if Bosh goes. Boozer, Amare, Lee are all still on the board, and while Bosh is better than anyone of the other ones, all 4 of those guys can be a foundation piece on a championship team.

As do I the Bird, but there are plenty of players out there that would take a one year pay cut for one season to win a ship and then try to get a good deal next season.  The new CBA could effect that, so you never know.

Dirk too. I feel like Dirk is the wrench in a lot of plans. Guy is 32 and I wouldn't be surprised if he ditched Dallas if they weren't able to get a big name.

I agree that Chicago is definitely a scarier team with Bosh and Lebron versus the Miami "Dream Team".

I will say that I think they could fill out the roster in Miami with decent role players and still would be able to resign Udonis Haslem who is a walking double-double.  Maybe they even reunite with Shag and Jason Williams on vet min contracts.

I still think that Wade and Lebron have far too much to prove in their careers on a personal level than veterans and therefore would have a problem giving up 'numbers' in order to win championships.  When KG came here he said it was Paul's team but I find it hard to believe that Lebron would be able to make that statement honestly if he went to Miami.

Not with the likely changes to the CBA.  Good players in their prime need to sign their contracts NOW, before the rules change.

I don't see LeBron and Wade together; can't have two alpha dogs.  Wade and Bosh; OK.  LeBron and Bosh; OK.  LeBron and Wade; nope.

Amare could solve their need for a center, but he's a dude that  I could see not responding well to the temptations of South Beach!  Doesn't play D, either.  Gotta play D to win the title, regardless; Lakers beat us in large part because of that.

Who's the best free agent point guard on the market?  Steve Blake?  There's a lot of OK vet-min PGs, but seems like they'd have to make a trade to bring someone decent in.

I just don't see Miami's coronation as being a done deal.  There's no bench there. They might be able to flesh that out with cheap vets, but that's still a concern.

Good for the Celtics if it happens, though...  because the Bosh-N-LeBron scenario in Chicago gives me nightmares!

Idk Dirk seems like a loyal guy and that he'd stay for Cuban.  Even though I don't think he should.

Depends on what Wade & Bosh get around them in Miami.  Not sold on what kind of supporting cast they'll have but who knows.

I still like Chicago better if they get Lebron and a 2nd tier FA.

See, I hope Dirk doesn't bolt Dallas. I love the Dirk/Cuban combo in Dallas. It's a feel-good story in a league where 'I just have to remember that its a business first' has replaced the phrase 'go team!'

I think Steve Blake would be an excellent pg in that situation.  The new CBA does effect things though, but I feel Miami definitely could get the pieces for cheep still.  I too am more scared of LeBron going to Chicago with Bosh.  That'd be a scary Chicago team.

If we can't get it done next year I wouldn't mind seeing Dirk win a ship.  The ideal situation would be that he gets it done in Dallas with Cuban, but I don't know if that's possible.
