Read that the Nuggets will trade Melo if he doesn't sign the extension. There's no way they will trade him but if they do, hopefully Danny will give them a call. But I don't think we have enough to give the Nuggets. To get a player like him, we have to give up alot and we just don't have the players except for Rondo. But man, would melo look good in green!!

Could be a fall back plan if we lose Pierce and Allen.  We'd have 15 mil in cap space to take on salary.  Would the nuggets trade Melo for a 15 mil trade exemption, draft picks and Rasheed Wallace clearing 21 mil from their cap to sign someone like Joe Johnson?  Could be an interesting summer for the NBA.

I would imagine the Nugs could do a lot better than a trade exception for Melo. Particularily with all the teams that are inevitably going to lose out on superstar free agent.

Sign-n-trade.  Pierce, Averly Bradley and a 1st round pick or two for Melo.

Melo said he wants to sign an extension. So why does Denver offer Joe Johnson money and not Anthony?

That would be my thought.  Pierce and Billups means the Nuggets are still a contender.

I would absolutely love it if they could get 'Melo.  I despised him early in his career, but really respect his game now, and think he has matured a lot.  Watching him and Rondo together on offense would be a lot of fun, and it'd ensure that we have more than just Rondo in a year or two.

I would do a sign and trade with Pierce if he wants a long term deal. Like you said, with Pierce and Billups, the Nuggests would be contenders. If we sign Mello to a long term deal, I would not include Bradley, only as a last result. He is a talent.

Then we could trade Perk and Sheed's contract to NO for Ekafor. Hopefully Ray comes back.

Sign Mike Miller with the MLE.

Rondo/AB
Ray/Miller
Mello/TA
KG/BBD
Okafor/B. Miller?

I just checked the salaries and here's a crazy idea.  Sign-n-trade Pierce and Rondo for Melo and Billups.  The Nugs would probably be willing to give Pierce a bigger contract in order to get Rondo.  Boston can resign Ray and sign Shaq for two years, then completely rebuld the team after that around Melo with all the cap space in the world to bring in another max level player.
