But Howard is one of the biggest names out there, and worth a look. If the Celtics need something is a big scorer. Durant would be ideal, Wade would have been, so from the 2012 list I'd go after Melo.

Yes, and they are closing to get a deal, so he'll probably be out of reach in 2012. The goal should be having the flexibility to be ready in case a really good FA is available. You can't stop those guys from extending contracts (Melo, Durant, Wade...). If OKC doesn't agree with Durant to an extension (highly improbable) he could be available, and in this case, you better be prepared to try to get him. Nobody said it was easy, right?

TP for the head-work that went into this. Really like this overall, though there are a couple of points I would resist, (especially losing BBD ... he and TA have been the most consistent players and essential energy-boosters we've had off the bench). Financial constraints are tight in places, but this is the most attractive proposal I've seen on here in a long time. (Don't care for the previous DW talk, tho ... I don't want "Super-jerk" in green ). Great stuff, Aporel.

Love this idea. Tommy point to the original poster for realizing we don't need to rebuild our team, just to get younger and probably su*k.

We were 6 points away from winning the championship in June. We just need to add a couple pieces with the big three and banner 18 is inevitable.

What's Anthony Randolph ceiling? Is it fair to say, he can be A Chris Bosh with better athleticism. A 20/10. I know he is pretty talented right now & adding pounds for next season. And also Can he a future starting PF for a future contending team? To get him, Warriors might ask a lot like taking on Andris Biedrins absurd deal. I'd really like Randolph, but for what price?

It's not Baby over Randolph, is about 6 million dollars of Gadzuric's contract coming off the books by trading for Sheed. And then, Dancin' Bear is today a better player, and Nellie doesn't like him a lot. They still could trade him by the deadline (is he still under BYC rule?), he's had some great performances in playoff time. Randolph could be fantastic for the Celtics in years to come, he could compliment Perk, he could run with Rondo... but GS is not the biggest expender out there. So money, even better if the C's pay Sheed's buyout, will be the reason.

That's what I'm thinking, he'll sign 4year @ $15 mil. Meaning, saving Celtics $13million this season (including luxury tax).
