ESPN states that Ray Allen is a good fit in the Thunder lineup.  I tend to agree with them, but wonder, if we don't sign Allen, what is plan B or C?

LOL no way. I worked for the organization, have had some convos with Presti and no what kind of path he is doing. He doesn't even want to use cap space to sign a fa. He loves the versatility it creates for him to do one sided trades like Morris Peterson and Matt Harpring to get youth and talent like Cole Aldrich and Eric Maynor along with picks.

The Thunder later this summer will lose that space when they re-sign Durant and Green and next year will have to re-sign Westbrook. Therefore they will be more focused on being involved in trades, like as a third team to help facilitate S+T, then looking at top guys. They didn't want David Lee last year at a bargain and they aren't getting anyone else. OKC is the 48th largest market in the country. Due to this they will never be a tax team or a high-spending one with current ownership.

NO WAY!!!! Does Ray Allen go there. James Harden is the starter. So unless Ray wants to go there to be a sixth or seventh man with Thabo, not realistically compete for titles next season, and play for under 4 mill then he will not go there.

This is simply a feel good story because he used to play for the organization in Seattle and Presti and Co. keep things so close to the vest that the ESPNs, etc. have to throw speculative garbage out there because they have no ideas.

Exactly I don't think there is a plan B or C. Not for the MLE. A Sheed trade? I mean I think Mike Miller can almost demand as much money as Ray on this market. He is younger and plays a similar game so he is out.

I think Ray is back. We want him back, he wants to come back, he has a home in the Boston area. Too many things say he is a Celtic next year.

LeBron would be a good fit here too.  Doesn't mean it's going to happen.

And if the cap is 56 million (is that it?), OKC only has 7 million dollars worth of space.  Boston will top that.

I would find it hard to believe that Ray can't beat out Harden or Thabo for the starting spot. Ray is a proven veteran with playoff experience. Harden shot just 40% last yr. and Thabo shot 44% and averaged just 6 ppg playing 28 min. Ray would fill one of thier major holes that wasnt entirely filled by Harden.

I believe it is 52, which would mean even less money

I’ve been saying Ray Allen would be a good fit there. But i think Ray might make them a little bit too perimeter happy.

He would provide the vet presence they need, and they have the money to get him (about $10M in cap space).
Celtics fan for life.

He would fit well on offense but would make them a significantly worse defensive team. I wouldn't target him if I was Presti.

I think plan B and C is to keep drafting and trading for undersized players that wont help our team... oh wait, thats plan A.
