I'd be very surprised if Ray went there. Even if it was his best offer.

You guys do remember that Presti is the guy that took over the Sonics and immediately traded Ray away, right?  While I don't think there are hard feelings, I can't picture Ray going back to them (even if they've change locations)

Im positive remembering that when the team was originally purchased, Ray said he wouldn't support moving the team to OKC and he didn't want to go there

  • You know my methods, Watson.
I believe the Celtics will start out with a lowball offer, and Ray will want more years than he'll be offered.  Danny won't budge on years but possibly on the amount.

It's all part of "negotiations" - and I truly don't believe Ray will be in demand...a small handful of teams may want him, but nobody will pony up the money.

Smart money says he stays for a 2-year deal, at a total of $14 million (7 per).

Now ESPN has a whole article on this:

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/news/story?id=5329103

The more I read, the more I believe the we might be without Ray and Paul.

Danny is going to get a lot more grayer in this off season!

The article says that OKC has 15 million in cap space.  I don't know where they're getting that from.  According to hoopshype they have 49 million dollars in salaries next year with a 56 million dollar cap.  Seems like ESPN's math is wrong.

Good point.  Peterson and Cook ate into their cap space a lot, basically cutting it in half.
