Considering we have no healthy centers on the roster, can someone explain to be why we didn't draft this guy in the 2nd round? Big East defensive player of the year? 7'6" wingspan?

I get that he's raw, but Haragody strikes me as a luxury behind Big Baby by comparison.....

NO WAY. He shouldn't have won BE defensive player of the year, the award has turned into shot blocker of the year. Guy has zero offensive game, really isn't a good rebounder, and is 23. Being raw at 23 is really, really bad for a guy who's had 5 years of college.

He has no post moves, not to mention limited strength as well. Hasheem Thabeet was in the D league last year, as the #2 pick in the draft. N'Diaye is 50% the player Thabeet is.

The Celtics don't need shot blocking? He can't catch an 'oop from Rondo? We're talking about the 52nd pick here, not the 2nd....

Rutgers ranked 263rd in defensive efficiency + 168th in adjusted defensive efficiency last season. There is no way a college team should rank that low if they had a 6-11 shot-blocker who is an above average NBA level defender.

Couple that with his solid but unexceptional athleticism + his poor rebounding + his non-existent offensive game + his age = and you have a guy who can't compete at this level.

I would be very surprised if N'Diaye managed to make and/or stick in the NBA.

I think the 3-second rule would neutralize Hamady pretty quickly.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

He can't improve? Did he play at Rutgers University, or for the Boston Celtics -- the top team defense on the planet? He averaged 4.5 blocks last year in the Big East. We couldn't use that over Luke 'don't call me Piggsnogle' Harangody?

Ok, he is tall and blocked a few shots at Rutgers. No one else drafted him either right? has he even been invited to join a summer roster? Maybe it is just me, I see a trend of 'non-interest' developing here.

We should have a nick name contest thread for Harangody, hilarious. ;D

Seems like everyone with the last name "N'Diaye" is a major project, at best.

the kid looks skinny as a rail. most centers and pf in the nba would be able to push him out of the paint. how he could hope to consistently rebound in the nba is beyond me. nor do i see him be able to box out opposing players.

plus, he doesnt seem to move well to play defense.

based only on the video he parks under the  basket (hello 3 second rule) and waits for someone to lay the ball up. then he can block it. one trick dog. a dramatic trick, but not enough to be on an nba roster.

in 10 minutes of play he might block 2-3 shots. but how many rebounds would he give up? how many defensive switches would he miss?

no rebounds, no offense. no strength.

i dont see that he would be better than erden or parakhouski. they are strong enough to at least make other centers work to move them out of the paint. plus, i would be very surprised if they do not out rebound hamady.

sorry, but not convinced without seeing more on hamady.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
