One trade idea I like is Sheed + Big Baby for Chris Kaman.

Kaman is a solid player with potential even now to improve.

The Clippers get to clear more cap to add in someone like Rudy Gay.

i'm not sure its fair to dismiss it so quickly that harangody could provide something similar to what bbd provides. But to the OP. I don't think we'll be able to learn if harangody is that guy, while we can still use sheeds contract. its going to take more time.

How can you trade a player that's retired? (Which is what Sheed says he's doing). Even if he wasn't, no way the Clips would make that trade, and I want Big Baby as a Celtic ... we need his energy and hard-work in the post. I would love Kaman in green, but it doesn't work for either side financially, even if Sheed was sticking around.

How can you trade a player that's retired? (Which is what Sheed says he's doing). Even if he wasn't, no way the Clips would make that trade, and I want Big Baby as a Celtic ... we need his energy and hard-work in the post. Sheed hasn't filed his retirement papers in order to allow the celtics to trade him and get some value. He will then represent cap room for the team that trades for him because they will then reach a buy out, or he will simply retire after traded. As of right now, sheed is just another player and can be traded as so. A very classy move by Sheed, I must say.

He's expensive. Not cost efficient for the franchise and current management. I guess what we need to address that big hole in the middle is to acquire a veteran big who can bang bodies in the middle, knock down medium range jumpshots and make throw downs with ease.

To the OP, I thought so that it could be that Harangody might be the contigency plan if BBD is indeed being moved to make a much needed acquisition. I cant help but compare the similarities of their style of play, built and moves to the basket. Luke though has a much better jump shot and is quicker.

This is a much better idea than Jermaine O'Neil.  Since folks are already quoting the SG, he usually comments favorably on Kamen's game, which he obviously sees as a Clipper season ticket holder.

It could create an issue resigning Perk.  If you give Perk a raise in the department of 7-9 million per, then you have a guy making more on the bench.

I think they can trade Baby for the right package...but Harangody has little to do with it.

I think people who want to trade BBD are really undervaluing his role on this team. In a addition to being highly skilled, he is, despite his height, a relatively versatile big. His strength allows him to match up with taller players but he has has the foot speed to guard the stretch 4s. Plus BBD plays well in big moments and is clutch which is something you just can't teach. He also brings the most energy to our frontcourt. Harangody is more of a 3/4 so I doubt he be able to do the same things as BBD.

I know he gives us headaches with his immature behavior but the fact is he a young player and will mature. I believe he is an ideal back up big who we should try to hold on to until money becomes a factor.
