Al Jeff on the block.  Go get him Danny and bring him home.  We need low post scoring more than anything and Al Jeff can score on the block.  Miss him in green and we really need the length.  A 3 year 41 million contract left.  Anyway we can afford him and the big 3 back?  Maybe Pierce can take a reduction.  He is not a 18 million dollar player anymore.  There are no big man out there that are available unless we would rather have Brad Miller or Shaq.  Sound like the T-Wolves want to dump his salary and I bet Danny could get a bargin with the lockout looming.

Nice idea but where do we get the $13M to go back the other way?

I am also not so sure AJ is what we need.  I have a picture in my mind of a player that is more of a defender, rebounder, not a feed me scorer.

How many low post points did we get in that Laker series?  Not many. He is exactly what we need and he is always good for 10 boards.  Al Jeff is only 25 and he would love to be back in green.  I am so tired of watching Perks offensive game and Garnett shooting jumpers.  Anyway we can free up the money?  Do you think Shaq or Miller are the answer?  I think Miller would be a nice addition but Shaq is finished.  Are there any combo of players we could move there or could we use Sheeds contract and others?  They might want Big Baby.  Danny is creative and I bet he could get it done.

No, we agree there but just because Shaq and Miller are not the answer, does not mean AJeff is.

You have anybody out there in mind that is available that can put the ball in the hole down on the block?

Agree with VG's point: Al is a one-trick pony, a scorer, who's chronically overrated on this board. There's a reason Minny can't find a taker for him.

We play defense in Boston. We don't have room for people who don't defend, whether they be James Anderson, Ryan Gomes or Al Jefferson.

I'd love someone who could give me 20 off the block every night. Don't want someone who's going to give up 25 on the other end, though.

Big Al is only 25 and not even close to being in his defensive prime.  Celtics D is based on a tight team defense and I think Big Al could pick it up.  If Ray Allen can,  so can Big Al.  Danny can arrange a sign and trade with Nate for example and do a Big Baby, Sheed and Nate maybe.  Bottom line is we will never beat the Lakers unless we get somebody who can score from the block.  I have not heard any names yet that fill that bill.  Kevin Garnett has lost that ability.  He is now a jump shooter.

Big Al's slow it down pace, back the defender in down on the block game doesn't mesh with Rondo's.

I don't think Big Al is what we need even if he can bring post scoring.

Big Al more than quite versatile enough to run and create with Rondo.....no issue there in my mind

and I think you put Al on a team that can win and he plays D........he would be quite happy to have DA bring him back and I think he would show it on the court like a beast on both ends....I just don't think Wyc will spend the money

We'll have to see how Big Al returns to form from his knee injury. Last season he wasn't that great. So some more time post-surgery should tell the real tale if Al is recovered or not.

Al's not really great of a passer so it would be hard for Rondo and Al to create for each other...Rondo's man would double Al and leave Rondo open for the J....or Big Al could try to score over 2 defenders....could get ugly.

I don't see Al strong enough, endurance wise to rebound and run the break all game long if he also has to score down in the post for his team. It's just too much to ask of a player as frail as his frame is. He's not Amare or Dwight's build.

Rasheed, Perk and BBD would do it salary wise.  Minnesota saves a ton of money because Sheed retires, Perk salary paid by insurance and they get BBD who is the PF they are looking for.  I would miss BBD.

NOBODY is trading for Perkins.

We need to move past that particular fantasy.

I still remember the pain of Al getting owned repeatedly by Mike Sweetney in the post.

That said I also remember the pain of watching our constipated offense hemorrhage leads because we had no real go-to option offensively.

Al would make a heckuvva 6th man if we were somehow able to land him without sacrificing Perk (Sheed + Baby + Gaffney + LaFayette?).
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Post offense is a problem but Al is just too expensive for what he brings (and doesn't bring).

I'd like to see somebody who could create their own shot off the dribble and finish at the rim.

Most NBA scorers are too expensive for what they bring.  We paid almost $19 mil for Ray last year when his play warranted about $9 mil.  I could handle $13 mil for Al for the next couple years.  Rondo/Al combined would be making less than Kobe.
