The tragic conclusion of the Greek League finals might have been a bit too much for Chidlress, who is not used to such spectacles. Childress will be leaving Greece and Europe after 2 seasons and also leaving a 5.2 million euros contract behind. Effectively this move loosens up a bit the finances of Olympiakos and also it frees one foreign player spot. Childress averaged 15.2 points 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 20 games in the Euroleague and also 15.8 points 5.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 31 games in the Greek A1 league.
Why would Childress want to go to the Wizards of all teams? You have to think he could go to a team with an actual chance at being competitive in the next 4 to 5 years.

Ron Artest is one of the few guys declining bigger paycheck for an opportunity to win. The premise of the story is "cash rules everything around me cream get the money dolla dolla bill yall"
If so, Wizards are putting together some nice pieces.
The exchange range has now impacted Childress's contract. That's why he is coming back.
wall, hinrich, yi arenas, mcGee, blatch... thats a lot of talent. prob not the best combination of players but lots of individual talent...I would love, LOVE to pry mcgee away from them.

Is he still an elite talent? He's IMO nowhere near the player he was before the injuries.Just to throw it out there, would you trade Pierce, Allen, or KG for Arenas and McGee? Obviously Arenas is a loose cannon, but he also is an elite talent. That is the type of deal that can either kill the team for a couple years, or rejuvenate them. I probably wouldn't do it, but I think it is at least an intriguing possibility.
