  • Rondo = Good
Chicago: Joe Johnson, Chris Bosh
New Jersey: LeBron, David Lee
New York: Amare, Ray Allen
Miami: Carlos Boozer, Wade

NJ just selected Derrick Favors.  Why the heck would they sign David Lee?  Why would LeBron go there?

That Knicks team would be B-A-D bad.

New Jersey: LeBron, David Lee
New York: Amare, Ray Allen
Miami: Carlos Boozer, Wade

NJ just selected Derrick Favors.  Why the heck would they sign David Lee?  Why would LeBron go there?

Because I heckin' say so. Its not being graded, its just what we think will happen.

But if you wanna get all rational about it, New Jersey has Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Derrick Favors, Yi Jianlian, Terrance Willaims, Damion James and Brook Lopez under contract next season...that works out to be right around 27 million dollars.

The Nets took the BPA, but Derrick Favors as a rookie is not going to be within spitting distance of David Lee as a player now.

If you look at the Nets roster, they're obviously going to try to shed one or all of Kris Humphries and Yi Jianlian, so that leaves a front court rotation of

Lee/Favors/Damion James
Lopez

I don't think that makes David Lee redundant at all. Favors could play the 4 when Lee moves over to the 5, and he could play the 4 when Lee is out. James will get mins sparingly.

I think LeBron goes there because

Harris
Courtney Lee
LeBron James
David Lee
Brook Lopez

is not miles behind

Rose
?
LeBron
Bosh
Noah

I mean, the Bulls lineup is better, but its not head and shoulders better. Harris is worse than Rose, but Lee is better than "?", and Bosh is better than Lee, but Lopez is better than Noah.

But on top of that, New Jersey doesn't have Micheal Jordan's statue in front of the yet to be completed Brooklyn venue, and New Jersey has right now the "sexiest" owner in the NBA. Prokorov is new, he's exotic, he's relatively young, and he's obscenely rich. He's charming the media, fans are excited about him, and it looks like he is really leading his franchise.

Ask yourself, if you could play for any owner in the NBA, regardless of team, who would it be? I would go Mark Cuban then Wyc...until Prokorov. Now it is Prokorov Cuban.

Understand as much as LeBron is asking himself who he is going to be playing next to, he's also asking himself who he is going to be playing for, and I don't mean the city. Players that have confidence in owners are happy players. Player that don't have confidence in owners are not.

For a man who wants to be the first NBA player to become a billionaire, he could not choose a better owner. Prokorov could bring the James brand global. The team will be moving to Brooklyn in 2012 (or 2013..whatever), and Prokorov is the most wealthy owner in the NBA. He will not be shy about committing to players and personnel who want to win.

Favors will need time to develop...at least two years.  So my prediction:

Chicago: Lebron, Bosh
New Jersey: David Lee
New York: Joe Johnson and Stoudamire (both reunited with D'Antoni)
Miami: Boozer and Gay
Clippers / Wiz / Sactown: nobody

Miami - Wade and Amare
Amare is from Florida so I have to think they have the upper hand and I think Wade genuinely wants to stay so Amare signing should convince him.

New Jersey - Lebron and JJ
We know Lebron reeeaaaally wants to go to New York but the problem is the Knicks are not ready to win yet. After missing out on Brandon Jennings and with this year's terrible I can't imagine Lebron joining with the current management. The Nets are supposed to be moving to Brooklyn and just happened to be owned by two of the most powerful people in the world (that might be a little bit of a stretch but you know what I mean). And when he signs there is a nice opening at the shooting guard for JJ who would be a perfect complement next to Lebron.

New York - Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh keeps stating that he wants to be the number 1 option which is why I have him as the odd man out. In New York he will definitely get that chance. Plus it would be the complete opposite of Toronto media-wise.

Chicago - Carlos Boozer
They have the money and he would fit right into their starting line up. That's all I got.

LeBron and Amare to New York

Bosh and Rudy Gay to Miami - Wade stays

Boozer and JJ to Chicago

LeBron's too self-centered to be able to pass up New York, especially when he knows he'll never live up to Jordan in Chicago.  Also he's too selfish to share the ball with Rose.  He fits much better in New York's offense.  They'll just give him the ball and run; he and Amare would be good together.  I also think Bosh would be better off with Wade.

If Miami can turn Beasley and James Jones into several role players they could offer contracts to Bosh and LeBron.  No clue if the two of them and Wade could all play on the same team (maybe if they each took 20 shots a game and didn't give anyone else the ball), but they'd have the best 3 man team in the history of the league.  That's gotta count for at least a couple rings.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Although it may be a long shot I really hope Dallas makes a S&T for LeBron.  One it gets him out of the East and two it would prevent the Lakers from getting out of the West.

What about OKC? I haven't heard anyone talk about their potential role in 2010 free agency...if I were a free agent, I'd be extremely interested in playing next to Durant, Westbrook, and company. Chicago wasn't really a great basketball city until MJ changed things...OKC is an all-star big man away from securing the western conference for years to come.

OKC: Bosh (close to his hometown)
Chicago: Lebron, Amare
Heat: Wade, Boozer (Rudy Gay is a RFA, Griz'll keep him)
New York: Johnson, Dirk Nowitzki

Where does David Lee end up though?

My thoughts

Cleveland - Lebron (don't know why, but I think he stays - if he leaves he will go to Chicago)
Miami - Wade, Boozer
Chicago - Bosh, R. Allen (if they lose Lebron, they will overpay Ray Ray)
New York - Johnson, Amare
New Jersey - Lee
Dallas - Dirk
Boston - Pierce, M. Miller
LA Clippers - McGrady
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

I have a hard time understand people who think LeBron is going to stay in Cleveland. What are the advantage for him of staying put, aside from financial advantages? The only reason he would stay in Cleveland is because they can offer him his biggest contract, but that's it. This team has no future.

Because Lebron values money more than anything.  I think it was 3 years ago that he said he wanted to be the richest athlete in the world.  Not that he wanted to be the best or win the most championships. And being in Cleveland hasn't limited his endorsements. What does it say about a person who has riches beyond most of our wildest dreams, but it is not enough for him unless he has more money than everyone else? ::)

I predict King James will a King. Yes, a Sacramento King.

Very tall, young and athletic players in their roster ie Cousins, Hawes, Whiteside, Casspi, Landry, Thompson, and Greene. Reliable players around him like Tyreke Evans, Nocioni, Udrih, Garcia and May. That's quite deep. Add LBJ and LAL will have a very serious problem out West.
