I don't remember any second-round pick by the Celts ever being this controversial.  Nobody was screaming, "OMG, Darren Morningstar, he's white and funny looking and probably won't make the team, this is horrible!"  In 5 years, there will be about 6 or 7 of the 2010 second-rounders still in the league.  I predict The Gody will be one of them.  But if he's not, who cares??

I lived in South Bend, IN. for the last four years and watched Harangody play on at least 15 occasions....he's awful.  There is NO way he is making this roster folks...and if he does it is a sign that we are in real trouble

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict none of the guys drafted from 50-60 ever play meaningful rotation minutes in the NBA.

To flip out at the 52nd pick in the draft is silly. You're lucky to get a rotation guy at 20, much less 50.

Seriously POS, maybe you should take a break from the Celts for a while. Everything you post lately just brings me down a bunch of notches. We are not even playing basketball right now. Can we speculate about anything without your bashing us over the head with impending doom posts?

Excuse me? Presumably you're talking to someone else.

I really like the Bradley pick. And I'm counseling against doom and gloom.

Assuming you're speaking to me:

I'm having fun.  If you aren't, maybe you should take a break. :)

I took a break after the tough losses in game 6 and 7 myself.

But I don't think suggesting to other posters they "take a break" is a good idea. Tends to lead to flamewars.

All i can keep think about is how close we were to Soloman Alabi. He was supposed to go late 1st round. And no Sherron Collins I thought he was supposed to go early 2nd a while ago.

I have no problem with the pick.

Here is Ainge's track record with short PFs in the 2nd round

Gomes
Powe
Davis.

His track record for the rest of the 2nd round
Reed
Pruitt
Walker
Hudson

If nothing else, this guy can rebound and hit an open jumper.  Sounds a lot like what the Celtics ask their undersized PFs to do.

He's one of the few college players I saw a lot of. I worry that he won't be able to rebound like he did in college. If he can't do that he won't be able to contribute at all on the court.

We as fans tend to look at the team as if there was no tomorrow, that's ok because we are fans.

The moves Danny made in the 2007 offseason brought a championship, and if the refs had called it right in the Orlando and LA series, we would be counting another one. The refs allowed Orlando to beat our players like if they were sparrings, and don't forget Artest injuring Ray and Co-b taking Perk out of the series. We can forget the bad calls in ticky-tacky fouls, but the way the refs disrespected the C's can not be forgotten. That's not a bad outcome for DA's trades. As some of you have pointed out in another thread, the Celtics didn't give that much, unfortunately for our former players.

But look at a bigger picture: in 2006 draft. Danny drafted the next Bob Cousy, and the original Cousy had to play a bunch of years for the C's before he got Russell and Tommy. That started the biggest dinasty.

I think Danny is working to get the next Russell, so you can consider the 17th banner a bonus, not an onus. I still don't get what can Harangody bring back in 2-3 years, and that's what confuses me the most. I don't see him as a future Celtic, nor a trade asset. But who knows... Avery Bradley has been drafted to see if he can be the next Darren Collison, so we have another good/great asset to get the Next Bill Russell, who can bring a big dinasty to the Celtics.

Hopefully some of the undrafted kids (Parakhouski, Zoubek and Radjulica for bigs, Torrance and Shved for guards) with good size, can be had for peanuts. The Rasheed retirement makes size a really big question for today, and I, as a fan, can't see a tomorrow. Get some size, Danny!!!  ;)

The League says Wyc has to give Danny at least 12 players--so there's still quite a bit to come.

Well, he told me to take a break.  I'm merely suggesting that perhaps he ought to. :)

Anything is better than the Lakers dominating the league for the next few years, right?
