Pacers and Nets discussing trade to send package including Danny Granger and 10th pick for Devin Harris, Yi and No. 3 pick, sources tell Y!

Big enough rumor to split on its own.

Ugh... I don't like seeing Larry Joe getting fleeced.  :-[

Perhaps Granger's injury has the Pacers worried?

VERY big news.   Indy is a franchise that has struggled for years to find itself a quality starting PG, so I guess they finally will get that in Devin Harris, but trading Granger will be a big loss. The only way this makes sense is if Indiana thinks the #3 is going to be an All Star.

Now I need to dig up another rumor for my Draft Day Rumors thread...  ;)

More from Wojnarowski:

Quote
The Pacers would trade up to third spot to draft Derrick Favors. No deal imminent, and source says Nets interest is "lukewarm" on it.

Quote
New Jersey has gotten a steady stream of offers for the third pick on Thursday, with teams trying to get a hold of Favors, sources said.

I believe Nets should make the deal, though admittedly the team would be hard pressed to replace Harris this off-season either via free agency (Felton?) or the draft (Bledsoe?).

Yeah, I don't really like the trade for the Nets.

That sounds a lot better for the Pacers, as much as I like Danny Granger.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Please retire, Larry.  Don't let this mess become your legacy.

I think Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Roy Hibbert, Ty Hansbrough is significantly better than what the Pacers have at the moment.

I'd be more concerned for the Nets, who would suddenly have Granger and Brooks to pair together but no point guard and a much weaker #10 pick.  They'd have to be pretty darn certain Amare, Boozer, Bosh or at least David Lee is going to come through the door in free agency.

I don't like Harris as a point guard, but I think the dropoff from Granger to Harris is less than the dropoff from the #3 pick to the #10.
Go Celtics.

Question is, would New Orleans take Granger and #10 for Okafor and Paul? If NJ can swing that deal after this one, and If they don't tender an offer to Boone and they cut dooling (only 500 grand guaranteed), they'd have Paul, Terence Williams, Okafor, Lopez, Lee, Humphries, and room for one max free agent. This is one semi-plausible scenario I could see James and Worldwide Wes helping negotiate. Assuming the Indiana deal happens, who nixes this deal?

Wouldn't NO love having a nucleus of Collison, Thornton, Granger, West, 10+11 going forward? (at about 14 million less per year)

Wouldn't Lebron and NJ love to move to Brooklyn with Paul/Lee/Lebron/Okafor/Lopez with Williams, humphries, and filler on the bench? Yikes.

Horrible if Larry does this.  If he's seriously considering it, we should try to get Granger in exchange for #19, Scal, and a chair.

Well I was exaggerating of course (except for Yi and the chair, depending on the length of the chair's contract); but, I think Granger is way better than Harris, and with the picks it's going to be a gamble.  Maybe Larry likes Paul George as a replacement for Granger?

I love Granger's game, would love him on the Cs.

Well, Indy took Paul George tonight, who's supposed to be the same kinda player as Granger. I wonder if Granger is on his way out...
