The Celtics are shopping Kendrick Perkins and the 19th overall pick to teams high in the lottery, according to a source.

Perkins was injured in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

is perkins even going to play this year?  He's only got a year left on his contract.  If he were healthy, I'd think something like this would be more likely.  If he's just an expiring contract at this point... you might as well just offer Sheed and the #19

It is no coincidence that the Celtics lost game 7 without Perk. The Celtics starting five of PP, RA, KG, RR, and Perk have never lost a playoff series.

I'm really curious if someone would take a shot on an injued Perk. He doesn't rely on athleticism , so chances are he is able to fully recover and continue being a high level role player, but if you can get a pretty high lottery pick (# 5-8) for Perk and # 19 you do it, but only if the guy you want is still there.

I think Danny has always looked at every trade possibility with all our team.  Perks value being injured isn't that great

I hate it...

If we trade perk we can no longer go at howard 1 on 1...

We will lose to Orlando...

Perks defense is underrated, he was the reason we beat orlando...

He must see a game changer up there that he thinks he can get.

Just not an easy trade to make right now with Perk hurt.

Real GM being what it is, I sincerely doubt the accuracy of that rumor. Who's going to give any value for that knee?

I would hate to see Perk traded, but if we can get a really good player in exchange, which helps right now and in the future, I would be OK to the idea.

However I don't see any talent in that draft that responds to these criterias so... I'd rather keep Perk.

Ok now it looks like Danny is trying to move up to that 5 spot to get Cousins. High risk but high reward move. I like it.

Yeah.  Tough to read too much into all these "rumors".  Danny is just doing what any good GM does at this point -- see what is available and at what price.  That's just good business.  Let's not jump into the Charles River just yet -- Perk hasn't been traded, and likely wont.
Celtics fan for life.

Perk has been my favorite player on this team for the past couple of years.  But the fact is that Perkins Value is only their for elite teams.  Average teams dont need dominant man to man low block defenders.  If Danny sees a young game changing wing that he can pair with Rondo for the future, I say you gotta make that move.  Because once the big three are done Perk loses alot of value for this team.

I don't think the knee is that big of a concern. Its an MCL, not an ACL. He'll be fine.
