Kansas State guard Jacob Pullen told the Topeka Capital-Journal that it wa Beasley who convinced him to stay in college instead of entering the Draft“I talked to Mike,” Pullen said to the paper. “The two weeks right before the draft deadline, Mike spent out in Kansas. We talked and he said if he could re-do everything, he’d have stayed all four years“He said to think about it and not just worry about the money. Think about the experiences you want to be part of, because once you make that decision it’s your life. It’s a job. It’s not fun anymore.

Just thought this was interesting since there have been people on here debating Beasly's potential and attitude problems. If you are not having fun making millions of dollars, playing next to a top 5 player in Miami beach, then I don't know what is going to make you happy.


Then later in the article it mentions that Miami has been trying to trade him since last trade deadline...

So if Beasley can be moved before the draft for a player with only a partial guarantee for 2010-11, or if the Heat can arrange an uneven deal (in terms of salaries and send him to an under-the-cap team in a trade that would  be consummated after the league’s one-week moratorium on player movement ends July 8, look for Riley to go for it

This is likely the only type of player the C's could get this summer , a player who has a world of talent and potential, but has major attitude problems.

I wouldn't give up much more than sheed and maybe a future 1st.

Old friends Ryan Gomes and Delonte West both have partially guaranteed contracts for next year.

Either could be dealt for Beasley.

Again, if you assume that Beasley's not going to grow up, you're making a huge mistake. The kid is 21, and in a terrible environment for a young kid.

If Sheed's going to retire, ship him to Miami for Beasley. Clearly, Miami isn't asking for much for him if the story is to be believed.

If this is true, I would happily roll the dice for the kind of return Miami is expecting.

He's only got two years left on his rookie contract anyway (coinciding with the KG expiration) - if he doesn't work you let him go or S&T him.

As much as it pains me to say it, a team like Minnesota is in perfect position to pick up a player this way, between Gomes' partially-guaranteed deal and multiple draft picks, and also in the other conference...

Yet another Beasley thread.  I say get him if you can.  The kid is freaked out because he came out too early.  He is a kid that still just wants to have fun.

If we get him, put him on the second unit with Davis and Nate and tell him to just go have fun.  Don't put any pressure on him.  Just give him the space to just have fun.  If you can make that work (take the pressure off him and let him be happy) I think you will have a star in a few years.

if you gave scal a 10/80 contract, you would definitely be the nut case! seriously, though, he's young and not in a great environment for becoming a devoted baller - miami nightlife could be sort of distracting, you know. if we think getting him around our squad could get his head on right, absolutely get him on the cheap. dude has all-world talent. i mean, look at the knucklehead express that has ridden through here - steph and nate are two HUGE headcases, but both did great on our roster in terms of acting up. we have an anti-knucklehead locker room - act up, KG might just kill you.
