I say get him (Michael Beasley), if we can..if he can be had for next to nothing - why not?
As far as his Alleged "Mental" issues - I think this is a Non - Issue. The Twitter Flap? Just a young man reaching out for a little help.
I think most of us have been at that point in our lives, one way or the the other.
As I read the thread, one poster made mention of why would we bring him onboard - KG is no pyschiatrist - or something to that nature. I think that is a valid concern from that poster.
But I think Beaseley's issue is just needing an environment change.
As far as Wade and his team needing more out of him defensively? Well, he wasn't a Defensive Stopper in College, was he? He only played one year there? I think that in his case, he is having to learn Defense for the first time in his Basketball life, now - and under maybe the worst circumstances.
To be honest, I was rather concerned about Beaseley during our series with MIA - the man torched us in one game during the regular season.....he hit like 12-16 pts consecutively..he hit jumpers, drove to the basket...no one could stop him.
To be fair to KG, though - that particular game was in November 09, when KG was at about 70%.
Overall, I don't see Beaseley as bringing down the Boston Franchise if we could get him on the cheap. Like another poster here stated - pair him with our veteran team...don't place a lot of pressure on him (like he has in MIA)...and tell him that he has the tools to be a Great Defensive player - he just needs to work at it. The man can obviously score - from anywhere.
Some here could say that "Well, he's making millions - why is he under pressure?" Well, money can't buy success...and I think MIA is a team in somewhat of a transition.
Very Good Discussion, though!
