There is also reason to believe Scal may have been tanked when he did this interview.

Thanks for bringing this to everybody's attention. Doesn't much compare to Scalabrine's instant classic, 2008 post-win press conference does it?

Sigh.

The things that stood out was that even in loss, he still rather funny.

He feels bad that Perkins couldn't play.

He wants to stay in Boston with this team relatively in tact.

But no, nothing compared to that interview or the suit interview lol

Unless he is the 12th man being paid about 50 bucks, I see no reason for Scal to return. Sorry to be harsh, but he is no better than an end of the bench player. And if you can get someone young and with promise, like Tony Gaffney, I would much rather see him on the bench. I think Gaffney is going to surprise people.

No.  Really??  LOL.

He's a great 12th man.  Bring him back.

Oh yeah, Scal is pretty clearly tanked during this interview.  It was 3:30 am LA time when he called in to the show.

Also on today's show Toucher hung up on Bill Walton for carrying on about how great the Lakers are.

I liked Scal already, but after listening to that I'll take up a collection to keep him on the team.  At worst, and even (maybe) after a couple, he's a great team spokesman who also seems to stay on the same page with Doc.

There was an interview a couple of weeks back before game 1, and he was talking about how he wishes he could get good looking girls to hold up "marry me scal" signs to boost his ego.

scal for the veterans min salary is a no brainer. good locker room guy who can give us a few good minutes a game if need be. he plays solid team defense and spreads the floor.

Absolutely. He's a good locker room presence who is popular with media/fans and patient enough to put up with a lot from them.

He sits out game after game without complaint, but then, when unexpectedly called on (see last night) he's ready and rarely screws up because he's hard to rattle and never tries to do too much. That attitude just isn't that common. A younger player is more likely to whine/complain or try to be a hero to make his mark.

Scal was overpaid in his last contract... Jason Kidd made him look better than he is. But he's been very open about being aware that his next contract will be vet min. (I believe he said his plan was to ask Danny to re-sign him for the min and, if that didn't work, to start begging.)

Also, TP for posting the link-- great, raw, but still funny interview.
