I feel worse today then I did last night. It has really sunk in how close this team was to probably one of the greatest playoff runs in NBA history.

I wanted so badly for those guys to get another ring.  :(

That pretty much sums it up for me.
Last night, I was in denial.
Today, it absolutely sucks.

I wanted the guys, especially KG and Paul to get that 2nd ring. I wanted it for them so badly, it seemed like there was no way any other outcome was possible.

And the fact that we lost to the Lakers makes it even that much suckier.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

ugh, just bought my first pack of cigs in almost a year...will probably throw away the rest of the pack like Drew Brees throwing a touchdown pass against 'Brett Farve'. Sorry if I offended any Minnesota Vikings fans...
You did...but it's all good.

I feel really sad and empty unlike i have felt after other sporting events. I had a lot of extra drinks after the game. I have felt and been worthless today. Thankfully did not have to do anything. I have not watched espn. This is the only basketball related site i have been able to check out. It was mainly to post this. I don't think I will be posting here much for a little while. Gotta go find some good exciting things to do this wknd and take my mind off it. Just an awful awful feeling.

the other thing that is helping me is seeing how hard our guys played.  they let is slip away, but it wasnt bc of a lack of effort.  i felt that each guy that stepped on the court busted their butt and i respect the hell out of that.  if they came out with a lackluster effort, then i would be p---ed.

Well, my choice was going to be the razor in the tub or shears in the wall socket. But I forgot I had a golf match 8:30 am est. Shot a 78 because I was too tired from watching the game late. Lot's of energy is good for round ball but really bad for golf. Why do you think those pro's walk around like Zombies.

Anyway it's over, a very exciting, richly fulfilled 3 years now. No complaints. In for the big trophy with 18 seconds left  our Star Rondo hit the 3 from the corner. Then rigor mortis set in. Pierce crashed like a drunk uncontrollably into Sir Pau and that about did it. It was gettin dangerous to play. If they don't burn that city down now we may meet again next Spring.

It feels like Dementors have surrounded me and I can't find my wand to cast the Expecto Patronum charm... like all the hapiness in the world have been sucked dry from me. Oh and I live near LA where fans that don't know jack about basketball. I've never seen so many posers in my life. I hate this city.

I actually got things done-- the stupid assignment at work, the annoying errand-- that I had been putting off because doing them would be frustrating/boring/whatever. But today, I knew that nothing could make me feel worse than I already did, so I went ahead and got productive. An ordinarily frustrating meeting is just sort of there when you feel too hollow to be frustrated...

I've never felt this bad over something I know is just a game  before. Stomachache, heartache... last night I couldn't take a deep breath around the knot in my chest.

That spoiled, nasty piece of work Kobe gets to be put on yet another pedestal while great guys like our  Three get trivialized as one-hit wonders. Life is not fair.

Got some writing done. Kept checking in with my support group i.e. you wonderful folks on Celticsblog. Stayed away from sports news. Watched some soccer. Painted my toenails. Cleaned my twin's apartment. Made strawberry cheesecake for my brother. Took my boyfriend to the dentist. Went shopping for a father's day gift. Basically got more done than today than I did the whole playoffs LOL. Keeping busy to distract myself but it still hurts.

It's so hard not to dwell on the what-ifs - a little less fatigue, a few more calls, Perk being there etc. and the unfairness of it all but I'm just trying to stay upbeat. Still very sad thinking of how our guys are feeling and just hoping for them to stay optimistic.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Been playing NBA 2K10 all day. Scratched Kobe off the disc so dont have to see him on it. Then been playing with the Celtics against the Lakers. best performance was 133-87 loved it, turned off the fouls and everything... Kobe got hurt midway  ;D

other than that, been on here reading a lot.
